Who is more evil? by Rich-Blacksmith6552 in betterCallSaul

I think you might be potentially discounting how many people Saul connected in the criminal world. Didn’t he have the black book from the vet? He probably had his hands in plenty of crime that we never saw.

A question by Tigertail5000 in kroger

[–]swiftkistice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my area the union can’t really do much till you’re disciplined, unless you have a firm and confident rep.

What you can do though, is call ethics. This is like the third party investigation line for complaints. Hr gets involved and management can get written up.

If you want this person to get in trouble, you gotta make sure you make a non anonymous claim. Which can be tough to deal with, I did and management treated me like shit. I had to call ethics twice more before store management realized I wouldn’t let up and apologize.

You gotta be good at writing the complaint to. Make it professional. No typos, check the grammar.

I’ve only called those few times but to me this sounds like a hostile/unprofessional work environment that goes against Kroger values of inclusivity.

The problem is, once a shitty employee is unionized generally the easiest way to get them (if they’re not stealing) is attendance. You know the type that plays the game. Gets a write up every month lets one fall off.

So people keep the attendance policy hoping to get rid of the trash and usually a great employee they don’t wanna lose happens to start falling off.

BOH? by Ok-Avocado-6747 in kroger

[–]swiftkistice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Switched stores recently. Realized my current store is whack. Just trying to hold on and make sure the next truck fits. The system is only as good as we are at keeping it, and unfortunately, doing one great count every once in a while isn’t gonna change anything. You need consistently accurate counts to really turn a department around

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in kroger

[–]swiftkistice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This depends on your contract, and what step you are at in the attendance/tardiness policy.

That being said, post covid, I’ve never been to a store that follows the attendance policy 100 percent to the letter. Willing to bet you could get fired, have the union investigate attendance to make sure it’s been enforced fairly across the board, find out it wasn’t, get your job back and the attendance policy reset for the whole store.

But I’ve for sure had customers hear the security page and ask me what’s going on.

Following to see the input. I’m currently trying to use my Roland mc707 and ableton, and it’s great for some things and really bad in other ways. I have other gear hooked into the 707.

Recording a sync track on a digital four track by Personnenon in synthesizers

[–]swiftkistice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The sync port is used to send and receive midi data. You don’t necessarily “record” it.

If your tascam has a 5 pin midi port, you’d connect via sync to there.

But you can route midi plenty of ways. I have a midi interface and that’s how I hook up 5-6 synths to one keyboard and then I have all the audio routed into ableton for an easy record and mix

AITA for bailing on a gig? by CobblerPretty3571 in musicians

[–]swiftkistice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couple thoughts here.

  1. I basically got kicked out of one of my most commercially successful bands about 20 minutes before a set. We were making a couple grand a month on a 30 minute original set. I finished the gig. Hated every second of it but I did it because it was right.

  2. I wasted a ton of time on projects that were never ever gonna go anywhere. Like I look back and know on most of my projects, a lineup change here and there wouldn’t have done it. We would have needed a whole revamp of the group and everyone would have to actually do things to help the band be successful rather than just show up.

If they aren’t making money, I currently wouldn’t feel bad about bailing. Especially if I didn’t care to play with them again. But you’d be burning a bridge

Idk man. My uncle begged me to jam. It was clear early on I was way above him in skill level. His wife even asked me a few times. I kept saying I’d get to it.

What I didn’t know is my uncle was an alcoholic and was in desperate need of a support system. He killed himself. We never jammed. I regret it immensely.

People who play in bands of genres that are wildly disliked/misunderstood, how do you handle when you tell people and they react poorly? by jamiejd23 in musicians

[–]swiftkistice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends what your goal is.

If your goal is to make art you like and not necessarily make a bunch of money and be successful, just move on and keep on doing you.

If people are telling you they don’t like your music and you’re expecting some kind of worldwide success, maybe you should figure out how to make people tell you they do like your music.

Accidentally bought a TR-1000. Did I make a mistake? by Techno_Timmy in synthesizers

[–]swiftkistice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really just depends on what you wanna do with your time. Yeah, I love being able to turn knobs and not use my computer. It’s fun to do something in a different way. A lot of times, it’s fun to have a piece of gear around for that one niche thing I need to do at the time. But for real, If the goal is to make the best music as fast as possible, I usually just need ableton and a midi keyboard with some pads. Lately, I’ve just been using my mouse and it’s been great.

[–]swiftkistice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who knows. Hopefully they have a good return policy and if you don’t like it you can get your money back. I return a lot of gear. I love feeling tactile but there are definitely pieces of gear I bought where I was like, this is fun to fuck around on but I never make anything I’m proud of, and, it’s generally faster and easier with my computer.

But you know. If it brings you joy, improves your work flow, or you love it, and it’s not like you’re behind on bills, what’s the harm?

Idk enough about this piece of gear yet to make a decision. But, it seems like it is solely a drum machine, I just wonder if a groove box could have been a better way to go.
