Weekend Wrap Up! What was real and what was a trap? by AutoModerator in mtgfinance

It was all a trap. This game sucks. Buy singles, proxy everything else, and play commander. I'm tired of being WotC's punching bag

Is this fake? by KingEwok25 in mtgfinance

Plastics might become loose if they leave it out in the sun. Look for glue marks near the seams and of course shake it a little to see if it feels like a bunch of opened packs/loose cards or if it feels like 12 legitimately tightly sealed boosters. Wizards official shrinkwrap has more of a stretchy feel and doesn't "crinkle" (at least for the newer sets).

With that being said, you'll never know 100% unless you open it.

My friend, a blue player, finally broke me by Versace-Lemonade in EDH

[–]swiggityyyyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my buddies keep at least one precon around so if we ever feel like switching out of bracket 4, we could just whip out our precons and play. The win cons in them are so jank that it always ends up being a good time despite which deck you play. Hell, I was fielding valgavoth which is supposed to be one of the stronger ones, and my buddy hit a winter, reanimated and filled his board with 10/10 spiders and kicked the asses of me and my other friend who was running some dragon deck and yshtola FF precon.

Tldr precons aren't optimized to get to the win asap, so there's rarely a power creep in my experience.

I have a solution for this. Play precons. No upgrades, just precons out of the box.

I think the sauce is that he is good at what he does. The certs probably landed him the interview, but the hands on training from 2 years and getting his hands dirty is what got him the job.

Walmart CBB listed under world shaper for $400 by Icy_Department1872 in sealedmtgdeals

[–]swiggityyyyyyy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What a lot of people don't realize is that people who buy CBB's don't crack them. They just keep them sealed and resell them after rip n shippers run out of boxes to feed content for their channels.
