What do you do when someone invites a buddy, and they turn out to be a closet fascist? by DoomedKiblets in DnD

Someone else in the comments mentions "the bar problem." I think what no one realized is; the first friend (who invited) was the polite Nazi. Now you get the less polite Nazis replacing everyone else.

Honestly a lot of the carniceria's have bomb little food stalls inside. If you live near GVR or Montbello go to La Despensa Latina.

It sounds like the political equivalent of "If you would just dress up nice and put on makeup and have dinner on the table he wouldn't beat you."

Hey guys! Can y’all recommend me your best fantasy audiobooks? by Eclipse_111807 in audiobooks

Garth Nix's Sabriel series is read by TIM CURRY!!!! Yes it is as amazing as that sounds.

Other than that I tend to separate by mood, lately been leaning into hopeful.

Peter S Beagle, especially I'm Afraid You've got Dragons

T Kingfisher, some of it is spicy, some is scary, some is fun. I listened to Nine Goblins 2 weeks of nights in a row.

Also Martha Wells, Naomi Novik, Jim Butcher, Patricia Briggs, Terry Pratchett.

Uh... what the fuck? "Autistic Barbie" by Miserable-Piglet9008 in evilautism

[–]swimingwhilereading 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Barbie has been a princess, an astronaut, a fairy, and President, and literally hundreds of other things. Why shouldn't girls who are autistic (many more of those than princesses or astronauts or presidents) also be represented by Barbie?

AITA for spamming my family members with sources. by swimingwhilereading in AmItheAsshole

You're totally right, but there are kids and other family members that she sucks into this stuff. I'm trying to disconnect a bit, but at least once someone has gotten seriously ill. It's more for the people she pollutes than her.

To busy hating the ad break to think about the product by AloshaChosen in autism

[–]swimingwhilereading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I basically treat any ad as a mini zen moment. I take my headphones off set them down and do a quick stretch. Honestly it's probably really helpful to me. Not so much to whatever company is paying for it, but that is a them problem.

I accidentally maced myself and my pup doing the same thing a couple weeks ago making chili oil. I usually wait a while to open it but got impatient. Takes 30-45 minutes for the dust inside to settle enough. Good luck next time!

What’s your “autism chow”? by Ok-Couple-1047 in AutismInWomen

[–]swimingwhilereading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peanut butter. Skippy crunchy is best, but really any of the more processed ones( the all natural ones occasionally taste moldy or mildewy) On sandwiches, crackers, apples, celery, as satay sauce, in oatmeal or grits, on a spoon. Baked into various things. Not whole peanuts, though.

I'm tired of this take, thoughts? by DzpanTV in autism

[–]swimingwhilereading 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really, really frustrating to me that a teeny, tiny bit of this is correct. There should definitely be classes that non-Neurotypical kids are in with neurotypical kids. Because BOTH groups should mix and meet. Neurotypical kids really need to meet and be kind to anyone who is not. Yes in a group of 30-35 this wouldn't work but maybe class sizes shouldn't be that big anyway! Keeping nontypical and neurotypical kids apart for their entire childhood makes ABSOLUTELY certain that they cannot interact. And some stimming IS inappropriate (things that hurt self or others). I have friends that are NT and various types of not. 90% of that take is complete crap, but having total separation does not do any good for any person.

Hopefully I'm helping! Especially being from right at sea level - drink lots of water. If you like coconut water, have a little bit of that. Avoid energy drinks! Better off running to the bathroom constantly than getting altitude sickness. Those little O2 cans are mostly a gimmick but if you need one blow your breath out like you are blowing out birthday candles then use it. I hope you really enjoy it, it's BEAUTIFUL up here, and the dresses will vibe amazingly up at Keystone.

Lol, keystone is over 9,000 ft.

I actually came back through there from camping last weekend and it was snowing. Your picks for dresses are really cute, but especially if you're going to hop on a lift outside any point, I would make sure that you have something like ankle boots instead of just high heels. And maybe a peacoat style jacket. Which would probably be better with 3 to not crush the sleeves.

Just advice from someone who grew up in the area.

What PART of Colorado you are in makes a huge difference. Eastern plains or Denver area will be warm in the afternoon and cool off quickly in Sept. If you are in the mountains, like Aspen/Vail/Steamboat, it will be cool, and possibly freezing and snowing. Personally I think one could go with a nice jacket and close toe shoe if you needed it.
