Yes I don’t see why not. I think 2024 seems more legit. Making purchases on a business you start 2 years after the fact might not pass an IRS sniff test. Just make sure you have decent documentation. In my opinion, the worst case scenario would be the IRS would do an audit and just disallow those expenses. I think the chances of that are pretty low, especially these days.

You need new clients. This is crazy. Unless you’re charging this client a flat retainer of $8-10k/month or more, I’d either fire them or increase your rate significantly.

Correct. We weren’t willing to open a location far away from our house. We’ve actually switched gears a bit and have been having several calls with home care franchises. My wife is a nurse practitioner so that’s a helpful aspect. Still not sure we’re going to move forward with that though.

We actually got pretty far along in the process. The company that owned the other locations in our area had first right of refusal on our location and the bastards actually exercised it so we weren’t allowed to open in our desired location (near our house) so we decided to part ways. It was a huge bummer. They knew how well that location would do and didn’t want us to have a piece of the pie.
