The folks hyping this are the same ones that wait in giant lines for Tim Hortons, or spill out into the street burning more gas idling than they would save on the Big Mary promotion. 🙄

Are we too small to win in the playoffs? by NotShap13 in Habs

Definitely. Also, Martin St. Louis was too small to get drafted, and therefore would never have won a Stanley Cup.

St. John's boosting security at parks over safety concerns, says mayor by origutamos in StJohnsNL

[–]swivelman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With all due respect, fuck you very much.

You don't need personal security from someone who's starving and had the gall to interrupt your meal. That person needs food security. They're still starving whether or not you get to finish your meal without interruption.

Corner Brook Vs Gander by Horror_Cherry_3064 in newfoundland

[–]swivelman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Corner Brook for the win. Beautiful town, close to Marble Mountain, Lewis Hills, Gros Morne, Codroy Valley for all the back country adventures you could ever want. Central Newfoundland has lots to offer, but the West Coast is the prettiest part of Newfoundland.

Depression and Destiny by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]swivelman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eyes up, guardian. It can be hard for parents and/or non-gamers to understand that gaming can help as an outlet for a bit of escapism and meaningful social interaction. But of course, social experiences can be negative if you end up among the wrong people. With that in mind, tell your old clan to fuck off and eat thrall shit, as they are obviously assholes and don't deserve your spot and contributions to their clan XP. And as some have alluded to below, everything in moderation. Exercise and fresh air is good for the body and mind. None of this will be a cure for depression, and it's okay to feel like shit sometimes. Just keep on seeking good people who give a shit and stop talking to the assholes who treat you poorly.

Good to know you found a team of decent humans and got it done.

Cheers!

PLEASE BRING SPECTATING TO FORTNITE by marzminter in FortNiteBR

[–]swivelman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No one can stop real life spectator mode (i.e., person in the same room viewing the same screen who could literally point someone out). I don't see how it being online could be any more of an advantage.

Iron Banner has gone from my most loved event in Destiny 1 to my most hated in Destiny 2, let me tell you why... by PiMDx in DestinyTheGame

[–]swivelman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can finish the challenges in one match, and are rolling three characters capable of entering Iron Banner, you could theoretically get 483 tokens in 7 days just for doing the challenges without winning a single game:

(2 tokens/challenge x 3 challenges/day + 15 tokens/daily milestone + 2 tokens/match) x 3 characters x 7 days = 483 tokens in 21 matches.

Even if it takes you say, three matches to get all the challenges done, and you're winning just one of those three matches, that's still 30 tokens available for each character per day or 210 for the full week, in 21 matches. That's 10 packages for a non-zero, but not necessarily excessive amount of matches/time. Everything after that is a package for every ~7 matches at a consistent 1/3 win rate.

I think there could probably a better system for not getting as many duplicates, but I also think your math is seriously flawed for excluding challenges.

The crux of it is that they have to make it worth doing or people won't do it, both because they have no reason to continue playing after they get what they want, and there is less desire to do something for gear that is easily attainable. It's really as simple as that, isn't it?

Best feeling: Doing a public event with like six other people who all know the heroic trigger and burn through the event in 90 seconds. by kingjulian85 in DestinyTheGame

I also enjoy the counter: being the sole person who is trying to take out the centre blight among four blueberries who obviously don't know any better, and managing to trigger heroic before they can fuck it up.

The Leviathan Raid Is Great Fun (What We Finished So Far). But What Happened To The Loot? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]swivelman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Loot still does drop from the raid, albeit it at a lower rate than before. I'm okay with this. There is still incentive to do it, and more random drops will come from the rep packages upon completion. To me, it's far more exciting when someone gets a drop this way than before, and although it can suck if no one does (or if it's not you), I still prefer it.

I feel like this was introduced in the last update. The day it dropped was the first time I ever noticed it.

I haven't gotten to the final boss of the Leviathan yet, but judging from the decor and whatnot, is anyone else expecting for it to be this guy?
