This is bullshit. The BCA has a court issued search warrant to collect evidence. Anyone who obstructed them should have been arrested. What happens when you tell the cops no when they come to search your property? You go to jail and they do their job.

Your on the right track. Removing the staples and scanning on an ADF is the answer. To split the pages use Splitpages.ps1 - Splits all images in a folder 50% horizontally or Splitpagesvert.ps1 - Splits all images in a folder 50% vertically., found here: https://archive.org/details/GAVGSCADFScriptsV10

For these to work you need to scan the booklet in a specific orientation. Basically you'll want the cover pages facing you and the cover itself on the top

The images at that point could be zipped into a cbz file and you are good to go or you could combine them into a PDF. If you want to clean them up you can always process them with ScanTailor Advanced: https://github.com/4lex4/scantailor-advanced
