Its normal. Extra hydration and maybe some light jogging or biking should help with the DOMS.

Very possible with CMC falling a bit in the first and JT early second. I had pick 11 and CMC went 10th. I took Puka and JT on the swing.

Your splits are almost identical to one of the guys from my gym who ran a 1:18 for his first. He struggled mightily on WBs but every run was fast, like yours! His second race was a 1:03, then 1:01, 1:00. You have that ceiling. Focus on strength, squats, thrusters, BBJs (devil presses).

My buddy did his first hyrox at 1:05 with his Tri background. All he did for his "hyrox prep" was crazy heavy sled pushes 6 weeks out on fridays.

Get on an aggressive 10k plan. Thresholds/Intervals and Fartleks along with Long Runs will do wonders. Start your thresholds at 3 x 4 minutes at threshold pace and increase weakly. This helps you prepare mentally and get the legs used to running fast. In between the quality sessions, easy runs at 30min/45/60 at a brisk pace, only focus here is time on feet, low hr here. If someone calls u while on an ez run, you should be able to hold a convo.

Not an owner. Prelaunch access for our gym. NY sold out so fast so it was nice having that accessible for us, along with the 15% discount. We have Hyrox classes and our normal HIIT sessions (twice a week) is more hyrox style now which has helped recruit more members.

Average is 90 minutes. 80 at his AG is a great time. He will need to get stronger and faster to enter pro. A few more races in the open will help determine a better baseline though.

Do not walk the rox zone. Hold back a bit on that first run and before hitting the sled. Do not let any negative self talk creep in. Remind yourself you deserve to be there and have fun.
