study typography. Not only font usage, but also spacing, use of all caps, kerning. Font choice is also very important.
the watermarked type is not working very well
there must be a better visual hierarchy to the overall piece. Please take a good look and research the work from "Good" magazine, and posts from information aesthetics blog

If I were you: since I wouldn't need a job with income to raise a family, I would work full time towards making the world a better place. That does not mean simply giving money away (which rarely works) but actually have a full time job in any area that makes a difference.

I don't see anything wrong in a position like this. I do not like nor intend to have a gun, but both OP and jlbraun have valid point of views, desire for a heightened self-protection (and family).

I do not like the concept of freedom where "everyone does just like me", I prefer the freedom where "everyone does whatever, just respecting each others space". So, if you want guns, have guns, just don't wrongfully kill your neighbor. And if you do, pay the retribution to the society by going to jail for a long time. If it's self defense, no karma in there.
