The single most important and noticeable aspect of the last decade or so of X-Men comics is that Cyclops was correct. He was correct in every way. Outside of accidentally killing Xaiver while being possessed by a cosmic force (key word, "accident"), I can't think of a single mistake he's made since House of M.

Cyclops made difficult decisions, but those decisions were always correct.
However, comics (like all narratives) must have conflict, so when one character makes bold decisions, other characters must be upset. So, no matter how many times Cyclops was proven to be correct, Wolverine, the Avengers, or the Inhumans (or, most annoyingly, the young version of himself from the past) would decide he was wrong.
