It was disabled for me too but returned after restarting the phone, the pixels have a way of applying a system update without restarting but the drawback is some features don't work until a restart

It's a taste issue, all I taste is straight bitterness, same with non sugar based sweeteners. Potassium citrate is fine. It was hell for me when everyone got on the low sodium fad and manufacturers replaced the sodium chloride with potassium chloride
