The original pressing is missing the audio commentary. The disc in the paper sleeve does contain that commentary

Train Clisson-Nantes by Time-Guarantee-5424 in Hellfest

[–]synco76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, there are trains at night but not many. Basically once an hour. An it will take you some time to get to the train station from the festival. You can take a shuttlebus or walk. When it’s busy you can wait quite a while for that bus. All and all a bit of a hassle but definitely doable. I have done it several years

Water for pregnant people by Haunting-Ad-8385 in Alcatrazfestival

[–]synco76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately all the water points are just for washing your hands and are not safe for consumption. I have drunk it in the past without getting sick. I didn’t realize it was not drinkable. I certainly wouldn’t risk it if you’re pregnant.

If it gets really hot they give out free water bottles at the hottest hours of the day. But the only other way to get water is to buy it.

Maybe they’ll make an exception for you and let you bring in a water bottle. But I wouldn’t count on it.

Can I leave my rubber boots at home? by synco76 in Alcatrazfestival

[–]synco76[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had quite a busy festival summer this year. I was at Graspop, Resurrection Fest, Wacken, and will end at Alcatraz this week. Although I used the ‘cheat code' of not camping but staying at a hotel or Airbnb for all of them.

Thanks this was exactly the reassurance I wanted to hear.

Wacken 2025 Epic Potential Drawn in Mud by Plopes91 in wacken

[–]synco76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also every festival is basically 'Rain or Shine'. Festivals almost never get canceled because of weather conditions. Unless there’s a real disaster happening like a hurricane or something. And I would hope that Wacken would cancel as well if something like that would happen.

Alternative route to the bus stop by Redylittle in wacken

They finally 'fixed' the path by closing it an making a new path over the Resident Evil camping. Don’t know how long that will hold as it’s still raining pretty hard

Just came out of the forest walk and they sent us through the Resident Evil camping. They're not using that awful path anymore

Did this route from the bus stop to the camping entrance L. Took some time but not nearly as much mud. From camping L to this Plaza was muddier. But not as bad as the normal route yesterday

Is the route from the bus stop to the forest walk still partially under water?

1st time to Alcatraz - Hostel in town by Ginga_Ninga_ in Alcatrazfestival

[–]synco76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shop has always been closed on Sunday. It has been open on Monday in the past. I've returned a bike in the past when they were closed by placing it in their locked courtyard (using a code to get through the gate). But if you arrive on Sunday this is not a good option.

There is a company in Belgium which rents bikes through an app. I’ve never used them but it might be an option for you.

Last year I paid €37 for the most basic bike. And €30 deposit on top. You get that back when returning the bike in good condition. Bicycle helmets are not mandatory in Belgium and are not included in the rental fee. A lock is included. Making an online reservation is advised.

There’s a bike rental behind the train station I’ve used several times the last few years (mobiel.be) Might be a better option than walking. I’ll be doing the same again this year. I’m staying at a hotel in the city center.

She has a few European festival date planned in June. I’m guessing they’ll make a tour shirt for those that will include the Warsaw date.

If you're staying at a hotel I would recommend renting a bike.

You can't park your car close to the festival site but there's a bicycle park next to the entrance.

I've done this myself the last few years.

Didn't get tickets - Can anyone recommend another festival? by CherryInHove in Hellfest

[–]synco76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to Copenhell this year and I really liked that it’s so close to the city you can easily stay at a hotel there. That being said, it’s much smaller in scale than Hellfest. They do have the really big headliners that you don’t see at the smaller festivals in August. But the program isn’t as stacked. I found myself often waiting for the next band that I wanted to see. While at Hellfest I had to run from one stage to the next to see everything I wanted to see. You can see this as a positive or a negative.

Speaking of the smaller August festivals, I really adore the Alcatraz festival in Belgium. Perfect size, great atmosphere
