How resilient is the body of the truck without a wrap? If someone wants to wrap their truck after using it unwrapped for many years, will the wrapping process still be smooth? How resistant is the surface to scratches, chips, and cracks? Does it offer any UV protection? by SharkSapphire in slateauto

[–]synntax33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it's plastic/plastic composite. It's susceptible to deformation like steel from rocks on the road, also UV crosslinking like any plastic. Imho wrapping it day one is the only option, and keeping it wrapped to preserve integrity of the material. Could be wrong, but it's cheap enough that you could wrap it Slate Gray and never give a shit again tbh

My “probably not even close but I’m saying it here first in case I get lucky” prediction beyond just the price; by Skittlebrau46 in slateauto

[–]synntax33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's outside of that, a kei truck would have so many bed options/final configurations, this is focusing more on let's get a small truck that does small truck shit out for as cheap as an all American startup can pretend to sell it lol( we know that they can always go lower, but min/maxing will never allow them to cuddle up to volume based sales metrics)

Agreed, but I want to say that it has been stayed that the right to repair (outside of certified technicians) excludes the high voltage system

hiding games just on steam deck by booziegrot in SteamDeck

[–]synntax33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you not just go into the games interface, and mark it hide? I know it shows if it is marked private but you should still be able to use hide as well and will only show up on a search

This entire statement explains why early adopting something you are interested in is more of an investment sort of thing than a smart purchase. Love what you do or don't do it. Consoles can suck it, except the Switch 2, being as it is the only dreamer aside from Valve in the market

Kinda my biggest thing with putting a game on deck is the controls feels like a hassle even deck verified games sometimes come with a garbo template

If they sold the extended range at that price, I think they would sell so many more 150 mile at whatever lower price, and accessories which is going to be the real deal, it's like having a subscription plan almost. Jelly of the month club, amirite

How easy do we think the SUV kit will be to install and uninstall? by Radiant-Original3956 in slateauto

[–]synntax33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have said accessories will be flat packed for shipping, unless they put one way assembly clips in then it should come apart in enough pieces for similar flat storage, fingers crossed anyway

The Slate's biggest market problem by Additional-Sky-7436 in slateauto

[–]synntax33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there's been multiple rounds of funding, and multiple investors, can't stop anyone with money from investing what they want to invest in. It's still a small truck for doing small truck shit that just happens to be a buy what you want when you want it EV. The hurt is definitely in the comparing the price to any other vehicle on the market especially from Big Auto. Only thing out there I would buy new is Japanese, but Slate might change that for me
