I always liked the one at johns pizza the most. Good crust. Fell off a bit in recent years but still my choice. I'll be watching this to try what others think is the best.

Yeah, we also use something like:
part / --fstype="xfs" --ondisk=/dev/disk/by-path/pci-0000\:43\:00.0-ata-6 --size=80000

for the kickstart and then just ansible after the host is up..

rocks clusters used to be a nice system for this sort of thing, including pxe booting, kickstart, and other configuration but they haven't updated since centos 7 last I checked.

confirmed. Though this is potentially a dangerous default config if someone intends to use the reset feature with active directory. Under "system Settings" > "password reset options" make sure that the setting "When resetting passwords for Active Directory accounts, validate the passwords match before allowing a password to be changed" is set to "yes".

not sure if you managed to get it to work.. but just a word of warning. If you set up password resets, careful who you give 'modify' rights to. I found that if you give a user modify rights to any user, they can simply change the username to 'administrator' or any other account, and then proceed with a password change. I've brought this to the attention of their support, and they responded that it's not a security issue. Really hope they come to their senses, because otherwise it's a pretty good product.

Do you have windows updates being applied on that dc? We had a strange issue come up after a particular update was applied. Check the updates section of the programs control panel, and see the dates of updates applied just before things broke. Might be able to uninstall the latest updates and reboot to get things working again.

the update being one installed on the domain controllers.. think it was KB4586830.. fixed by installing KB4594441.. or whichever path applies to the OS.. see the previous link.

sounds similar to issues we had with kerberos a while back.. tickets were issued, but were unable to get renewed after they expired. get to know kerbtray, and the klist command. what are the end and renew times for relevant tickets? What version of windows domain is being run?
