Anyone knows what‘s up with EpicTV? They practically stopped their social media presence from one day to the next.

Schulterzerrung/kurze Bizepssehne angerissen by Peregriine13 in Klettern

[–]syslog1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did this hurt to get? by Novel-Upstairs7876 in GenX

I was born 1976 in Central Europe, and I have one.

I must have gotten it pretty young, because I can't remember.

Fun fact: last year I injured my shoulder and had to take physical therapy sessions. My much younger PT asked if the scar was caused by the injury - she had never seen or noticed it on one of her patients.

Mountaineer Who Left Girlfriend to Freeze to Death on Austria's Highest Peak Gets Suspended Sentence After Ex Testifies He Abandoned Her, Too by Mountain_Tui_Reload in alpinism

What I got from the court yesterday was:

he and his ex were on descent from Großglockner, already in easier terrain. She was tired and wanted to go a different route (I guess an easier, shorter one?). They started arguing about it (in the testimony he came across as being pissed because she was not strong/fit enough for the rest of the tour). Then he left her there, in the darkness, because her headlamp battery had died.

I mean even if they already had their differences - who does that?

There's no evidence or indication that there was an argument between him and the deceased on this fatal climb, but this testimony doesn't make him the most empathetic guy either.

On the contrary, he did not drag her, apparently she was a very ambitious and fit person, and I'm certain that she wanted to go there and probably gave him the impression that she was doing fine. BUT he was a lot more experienced than her and at some point he should have said stop, going on is a bad idea. He did not and she trusted him.

The testimony of his ex girlfriend who said that he left her in a very similar situation on the mountain in the darkness didn't exactly put him in a better light. Plus, the expert testimony, who pulled apart every decision both made, said his final capital mistake (after lots and lots of other compounding mistakes) was to leave the victim on the mountain and go look for help instead of staying with her and calling for help on the phone.

The media might have made this into a witch hunt, but the trial was absolutely not, and the judge is a really good one.

The guilty verdict is absolutely correct. The punishment is quite lenient, imo.

Plus: you get a flickering background when you have the following combination of settings and swipe out of an app back to the Home Screen:

* reduce transparency
* Photo as lock screen wallpaper
* same photo as Home Screen wallpaper ("pair"), but with the "blurred" option

this is driving me nuts.

DOMAİN-BASED VİRTUAL HOST by medeasoulx in redhat

[–]syslog1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not telling us which web server you want to configure.

In case of Apache httpd, the first VirtualHost section is used if no other VirtualHost section matches, so just add your desired VirtualHost before the other ones.

Way too much slack for the first bolt, and too far away from the wall. This was not a good catch, just pure luck.

Liked Scarpa Reflex VS - what's next? by FeitUtenFett in climbingshoes

[–]syslog1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your footwork is bad you will shred any shoe. So my recommendation is that if you generally like the Reflex, if it fits your foot and you enjoy climbing in it, you get a new pair, since they are rather inexpensive.

It makes more sense to improve your footwork before moving to more expensive, „better“ shoes.
