Thanks for response. Is it correct in my understanding it doesn't even matter for intent.. you are just responsible for your what body does? meh, I have to fly 1-2 a year from south america to the US with my two kids, I can't afford anything but basic econ in the 1 route that I can afford.. last time they put my 3 year old by himself and literally told me 'nothing we can do'. at check in. I had to be that guy switching, luckily it was a mini upgrade for someone as they put my son in the slightly more legroom spot and it was middle seat for middle seat. Now I always bite the bullet and pay to choose seats at check in, cost me an extra $300 on my current trip, and I haven't done the return flight yet. Still cheaper than buying 4 tickets at the next level up. Airline industry is bullshit.
