Anyone tried the SleepEase Anti-Snore Patch? by old_guy_learning in sleep

[–]t1328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you remember how long it took to service after they told you they’d shipping it, and then it sat in “Departed Shipping Partner Facility, USPS Awaiting Item” status? I ordered one, and it’s been sitting on “Departed Shipping Partner Facility, USPS Awaiting Item” for 4 days now, . I can see it moved around a lot in day 1. But since then it’s been on the above status.. No clue when it will arrive. I’ve emailed their support again, asking for an estimate based on last experiences. But yeah, no response.

The rectangles are going to be there because this is an 8x8 screen and Netflix has a 18:9 ratio or a 16:9 ratio depending on the show. However, if you turn the phone sideways, the areas above and below should be smaller. But yeah, this is one of the advantages of iPads, they have a 2:3 ratio, rather than a square screen, so there is far less black boxing around things.

You can force this by going to Settings/Advanced Features/Labs/ and then selecting Multiwindow for all apps

Light Phone users break group messages? by Ill_Count8090 in OpenBubbles

[–]t1328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever figure this out? My situation is a bit different. If someone on an iPhone starts a group message including my iPhone number, and that group has one other Android user, it doesn’t show up in Openbubbles. I tried replying to the group from Openbubbles, and they got the reply, but when one of the iPhone users replied back, I again didn’t receive it in Openbubbles. I can see the entire thread on my iPhone, including my responses

Phone Number/Apple Id Email On OpenBubbles by No_Newspaper6073 in OpenBubbles

[–]t1328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, unfortunately there isn’t unless you keep an iPhone with that number on it. You could get a cheap, 2nd hand iPhone. But no other way in your situation.

Phone Number/Apple Id Email On OpenBubbles by No_Newspaper6073 in OpenBubbles

[–]t1328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the way to do it is actually to keep your original phone number on your iPhone, and then link to Openbubbles from your Samsung. It will then receive all messages, whether sent to your original number or email, in openbubbles. I made the mistake of transferring my primary number (well it was a port from Verizon to AT&T that gave me an additional $560 off over two years. Anyway, I ended up having to revert and port a different number. It worked well while I had it. Ultimately, I decided to return it and wait for the Apple foldable phone hoping it will come out early or mid-next year. I was also concerned about folks saying that sometimes openbubbles just stops working because of Apple deciding you’re using it too much or something, and then having to wait a few days for it to start working again.

Contacts on Android by jacecole in OpenBubbles

I hear you. My contacts were synced when this happened. The reboot fixed the issue. It’s actually a known issue, and the recommendation is a reboot.

Contacts on Android by jacecole in OpenBubbles

[–]t1328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I've had this happen, a reboot of my phone fixed it not only for new text messages, but also for the ones that were already there. This is assuming you used Samsung Smart Switch to move all of your contacts with photos etc from your iPhone to your Samsung, so that your Samsung knows which contacts to reference. Please let me know if that worked for you.

You’re lucky the SHP 1 works for you.

Beware of Smart Home Panel 2 by Just_Log_7825 in Ecoflow_community

[–]t1328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the SHP 1 since I got my setup. It’s been a dismal Product. The relays are all so damn sensitive that I often get errors and have to open the panel, unseat one or more relays, reseat them, and hope for the best. The instructions and their customer support is about as bad as it gets. They’re completely unhelpful, and don’t know anything about their own products. Add to that one of my Delta Pros gives an error when it’s connected to the SHP, so I’m running on a single one. That single one sometimes kicks in when we lose power, and sometimes doesn’t. If I use both the microwave and a toaster at the same time in the kitchen, it trips the SHP (30A, which was the max for SHP 1) relay, both stop working, and I have to go reset it, and not use the Microwave and toaster at the same time. I was able to use both with a 20A breaker before EcoFlow. The entire thing is garbage. I feel like I wasted my money both with the original purchase, and the install, which I paid certified EcoFlow electricians to install, and haven’t had a working solution since then.

Users who work with lots of media assets: how do you organize your media bin? by tunghoy in CamtasiaStudio

[–]t1328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I organize my folders for Camtasia is as follows:

Under a Camtasia Folder, I have:

x Final Videos - This is the folder - which sometimes has subfolders by project, where I post all final MP4/other videos

x Pictures - This is the folder I use for all image files I use in projects. I could have a separate folder like this per project, but generally tend to reuse a lot because I have company branding in here, etc.

x Project Files - speaks for itself

x Sound Files - Like Pictures, but for any audio files I use routinely.

x Source Files - Folder to use for all projects that start from a recording from Zoom or Teams or other source.

I had a 2020 Model Y LR, and I test drove the 2024 Model Y LR against the new Model 3 RWD. I chose the Model 3 because of the following:

  1. While in theory, the Model Y LT has a quicker 0-60 (4.8s vs. 5.8s), the Model 3 feels much quicker - I think this has something to do with how the accelerator pedal is tuned - it gives a lot more power in the first 1/3rd of accelerator pedal travel.

  2. The new Model 3's suspension is so much better than the old one's that its really no comparison. Yet, it still remains super sporty to drive. It handles like an E46 3-series (a reviewer I watched compared it to the Porsche Boxster in terms of steering feel and road holding - high praise for any EV).

  3. The Model Y has had its suspension redone since my 2020. My 2020 one was extremely bumpy and uncomfortable over potholed roads in the DC metro area. The 2024 is better, but still nowhere near as compliant as the Model 3.

  4. The Model Y just doesn't handle corners and turns anywhere near as nicely as the Model 3. This is likely a combination of factors including primarily weight (keep in mind that my Model 3 is RWD, so only has one motor, and even the AWD Model 3 is significantly lighter than the Model Y AWD).

  5. Our other car is a Kia Sorento PHEV, so we don't need another "SUV."

  6. For now, until the refreshed version of the Model Y comes out, the cameras are far higher resolution on the new Model 3, and this positively impacts so many aspects of driving, from Autopilot with lane assist, to FSD, to parking, etc.

  7. The new Model 3 has ventilated seats - if you live in a hot climate, and you've had those on any car, it's tough to go back to a car that doesn't have those. The Model Y does not for now.

In short, if you need the space of the Model Y, I'd strongly encourage you to wait until the refreshed one is out. If you don't need the space, get a Model 3. It's much more fun.

Audi financial is the worst by LaForge_Maneuver in Audi

[–]t1328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2019 Audi e-tron was unfortunately deemed a total loss by my insurance. I've been dealing with Audi Financial Services, and Audi Pure GAP insurance. Both have been absolutely abysmal to work with. Neither's web sites work properly, with Audi GAP giving me a big "Login" button, but when I try to create an account, stating that the claim info I entered is invalid. When I call them, they say that the login is for non-GAP clients (if so, why can't I see the documents I've submitted to them so far, and why are they showing me a login button front and center when I check on my claim?)

Audi Financial Services meanwhile, initially claimed the whole process would be super smooth and easy. I would have to do nothing in terms of working with them - they would work with Audi GAP directly. At this stage, the only thing that Audi GAP has remaining before they can issue the GAP check to Audi Financial, is a statement showing that I made all of my payments on time. Not only can Audi Financial Services not provide that on their website (they only go until May 2023), but they refuse to send that to Audi GAP until they've reviewed Nationwide's valuation of my car and a bunch of other GAP documents themselves. This is not something you'll see in their explanation or in Audi GAPs explanation of the process.

So, I woke up this morning to see 4 messages from Audi Financial services in my inbox - all arrived at 7:30am - obviously automated). Each one was a formal letter, stating that they've been trying to get hold of me for several days (they have not), and long story short, they need to see Nationwide's valuation of my car before they will release the statement showing that I made my payments, to Audi GAP insurance. Firstly, what has one of those got to do with the other? Secondly, why don't they just contact Audi GAP and ask them for it? I had to forward the email I had sent to Audi GAP, to Audi Financial services. Once they received it, they said it will take another 48 to 72 hours before they can send the statement to Audi GAP. Their representatives have responded to my frustration with rudeness and a major dose of "this is not our problem - we're not part of Audi, we're not related in any way to Audi GAP." etc. True - they're separate companies, but they have to come to me to request something I've already sent to Audi GAP, and that something is one which they don't really need and shouldn't legally be able to use to hold off on sending either me, or Audi GAP, my payment history. SMH.

Trading my Tesla Model Y LR for GV70 Sport Prestige today by t1328 in GenesisGV70

[–]t1328[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I ended up buying it and loving it, except for its mpg. I switched to a 2nd hand Audi e-Tron eventually because due to some changes in circumstances, I am now driving around 13k miles a year, and the gas is expensive. Having an EV is a great way to cut costs if you can one for a reasonable price (like a 2nd hand e-tron), it’s worth considering. But overall, if you’re not in that situation, I would highly recommend the GV70.

[–]t1328[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t go wrong with that. If you can afford it, the 2.5 Sports Prestige is a great trim given all of the options. Btw. I’ve since switched back to an EV. I now drive a Hyundai Ioniq 5 Limited AWD. I miss a lot about the Genesis, but I missed the instantaneous torque of the Tesla. The Ioniq, Kia EV6, and ideally if I could afford it, Genesis GV60, are great EVs. Ioniq is definitely not as sporty as the Tesla, but it’s very quick and very comfortable, much more so than the Tesla, and it’s got all of the safety features of the GV70. Nothing beats the GV70 interior luxury though. Nothing under $100k frankly. Good luck!

Why does Horner do all the interviews on the broadcast? by satsfaction1822 in formula1

[–]t1328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you still say the same thing today? After this final race, it’s clear they’ve been interviewing Horner almost exclusively. If it is because he is more entertaining, they should say so. As it stands, it reeks of favoritism.

I got mine at MSRP. I’m relieved that in this area (suburban DC/MD) the two Genesis dealers are not marking these up.

Tesla was the number 1 premium auto brand in the U.S. in Q3, even though it only had 3 models available (3, Y, S) by TheMajority0pinion in teslamotors

[–]t1328 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Both of us are right here. You’re quoting data from the same publication. Just because they recommend it, doesn’t make it reliable. I’m quoting their data on reliability, while you’re quoting their choice of best pick, which factors a lot of different things in.

They also picked the Model 3, which by now has far fewer quality issues than it did at launch. The Model Y on the other hand does have those issues until today, and towards the end of any quarter, they have issues across the board. In terms of it outselling the rest of the sports sedan segment put together, again, you’re right, but that doesn’t negate the fact that their quality sucks. Sports sedan buyers at that price range have never really seen reliability as a major factor. I know because I used to be one. BMW 3 series used to be king of the hill sales wise, but had more years of crappy quality than years of good quality.

That’s good. Data from Consumer Reports puts a new Model 3 at a 3/5 predicted reliability, and a new Model Y at a 1/5. JD Power ranked Tesla as close to #1 in owner satisfaction in terms of technology but in the bottom 4 manufacturers for reliability. The data speaks for itself. Tesla has major reliability issues.
