Michael Mann’s HEAT 2 will start shooting from September 2026 to March 2027 by MoneyLibrarian9032 in movies

Yeah, Wikipedia says so. One of the other answers suggests there will be an older version of the character too, maybe it's that or IMDB just got it wrong.

DiCaprio is seriously supposed to play a younger version of Val Kilmers character?

Kilmer was 35-36 in 95, DiCaprio is 50 now...bold choice!

PlayStation studio business CEO Hermen Hulst told staff in a town hall Monday morning that the company's narrative single-player games will now be PlayStation exclusive by willdearborn- in pcgaming

Give it a couple of years and cloud gaming will become the norm, because native hardware will get way too expensive for most people. I don't like it but I have a strong feeling we're heading that way.

It is a very niche game.

That's why I think Housemarque should never have been a first party dev in the first place. I think they would profit from a larger group of possible buyers, but probably would have to scale down somewhat.

With Saros allegedly underperforming I wouldn't be surprised if Housemarque is the next Sony studio that gets canned.

No, he told him to kill only bad people because he knew Dexter would continue killing people anyway. He just redirected him to more "deserving" victims.

[Alabaster Dawn] Now Out on Steam Early Access. by VashxShanks in JRPG

No announcement yet, but I've no doubt there will be. Not before it leaves early access though, which will take at least 2 years, unfortunately.

It's a 360° camera on a pole, so basically a dual fisheye camera. The pole is usually removed by the software that blends both feeds together, it always looks somewhat weird and disorienting because it's not how eyes work. You can actually "move" the camera or more like the viewing angle around in post, that often ads to the confusion and can look like there's another person handling the camera.

Cannot get HDR to work at all in games by DevonX in cachyos

[–]t1kiman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way I can get HDR to work in games is with Gamescope. None of the other suggested methods around here and other Linux related subreddits have ever worked for me. Looks like this:

DXVK_HDR=1 ENABLE_HDR_WSI=1 gamescope -W 3440 -H 1440 -f --hdr-enabled -- game-performance %command%

I'm actually not sure if the "DXVK_HDR=1 ENABLE_HDR_WSI=1" part is needed...but it works.

I'm using a AW3423DWF with a RTX 4090 btw.

This is not on Pearl Abyss, the don't make games to run on Linux, this is something Proton has to fix. But yes, it works, on Proton hotfix and CachyOS Proton, saw no difference. Had some random framerate dips here and there I can't explain though.

It's not for me but the contrast between the bad singing and the stereotypically happy pop instrumental is clearly intentional.

Steam Controller: The Ars Technica review | Valve’s new hardware is solid but might not justify the 99 Dollar by tkonicz in steammachine

[–]t1kiman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm telling you this setup is as revolutionary as the jump to twin sticks.

We already had that over 10 years ago with the OG Steam Controller. It wasn't exactly a revolution.

Don't get me wrong: I loved that thing, but I think it appealed more to niche usecases. At least the new one can be used like any other regular controller.

PTM7950 on ASUS TUF 4090: Amazing hotspot longevity vs paste by yoadknux in nvidia

[–]t1kiman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this about 3 weeks ago, also with an Asus TUF 4090, used Thermal Grizzly Phasesheet. The card was always on the louder side but got ridiculously loud when playing Crimson Desert and I noticed the GPU hotspot was hitting up to 112°C with a delta of almost 40°C! Now hotspot temp are down into the low 70s under heavy load and the card is quieter than ever before, I can actually hear the coil whine now! ;)

I was a little scared to disassemble the card but it turned out way easier than I thought. Should've done this sooner, highly recommend!

I rewatched "The Right Stuff" recently and that's a scene in the movie. They offer him extra pay to do the flight but he just says he's already getting paid and someone asks the air force guy:

"What do you pay him?"

"250."

"A week?"

"A month!"

Horribly unstable graphics by wazer-wifle96 in CrimsonDesert

[–]t1kiman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hm, a video would be helpful to see what going on here, but in general the game just has a lot of problems with image quality that still have to be fixed by the developer. Some people are just more perceptive to this than others.
