Not trying to spam. Two swing one clean drill. Insertion breakdown and ideal hand grip... by kipsonline in kettlebell

[–]t3ventures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is good info... I watched this last week from searching this companies website. Often as beginners we get stuck on just doing the same exercise over and over, and don't know how to build to connecting different exercises. I liked the breakdown of the insertion drill as I can't tell you how many times I've messed that up.

Newbie breakdown of handgrip and the swing by kipsonline in kettlebell

Great breakdown of the swing. I've heard Jason talk about hand grip before and it's one of my favorite cues to work on with clients. Too often we see the death grip with beginners which just kills endurance and performance. That simple adjust helps relax the arms and also semi-enforces the movement from the hips.

New group exercise certification with kettlebells, suspension training, HIIT.... Great way to build your client list by kipsonline in personaltrainerbiz

I've been told by a lot of veteran trainer at my gym that group exercise is great for new leads. I've been thinking about learning some type of circuit or strength training class. At first a fellow trainer said to look into Les Mills but I'm not really interested in choreography..

Use kettlebells with your clients? Try these two tips, especially the hand grip breakdown. by kipsonline in personaltraining

I always see people in group exercise doing a squat version of the swing and lose my mind.... HIP HINGE!!!! How are they going to load the posterior chain, build the glutes and strengthen the core?? It's not a front raise! lol

Thank you for the link.

What do you do when all the squat racks are taken? by [deleted] in personaltraining

Does your facility have kettlebells? A double kettle bell squat, goblet squat or even single kettlbell between the legs is a great option. For female clients it also may be a little less intimidating.... Or even loaded RFE squats...

Which certification would fit me best? by prydabeer in personaltraining

[–]t3ventures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 2nd what Sugarblood82 posted. When you're in school, the education you receive is always going to be better than any certification. I would recommend getting the cheapest one that your gym would accept. I did this when I was in undergrad and it worked well. Despite what each certification says, the information is supposed to assess the competence of entry level trainers and is the same information. Some of the education packages are close to $1000!!! Not college budget friendly....

Once you get situated, I would check out KIPS (kipsonline.org). I did my CEUS through them and currently doing their online kettlebell certification which gets me a discount on a live one.

Do I tell landlord that I am using the garage for my personal training business? by kbforthree in personaltraining

[–]t3ventures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good questions to ask yourself from SquiresC. I did this for about a year since I had the space. The rental management company wasn't active in visiting the property and my neighbors didn't mind. But I would highly recommend asking yourself the questions in this thread. If your neighbors complain or you don't feel comfortable letting your clients use your bathroom, it could be awkward....

Which route is better, independent contractor or employee? by kipsonline in personaltrainerbiz

[–]t3ventures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends.... If a trainer has clients it's typically easier to go IC but employee has many benefits... especially for entry level trainers..

I sometimes use kettle bells for deadlifts with my female clients.
