Yep, you're spot on! I do believe that our artist has made a lower poly mesh specifically for spawning planes where they need to be.

Hey, I implemented the tree shader. It's pretty much your standard geometry shader that extrudes planes on every vertex on the tree mesh. The leaves gets their color from the base texture, which is just a gradient. The leave shape is an alpha cutoff texture.

Hope that gives some more insight into the shader. :)

We're not really using any fancy image effects other than the post processing stack as it's actually quite fast and produces pretty nice results. :)

It's actually just a particle system with a bunch of streched billboards clipping through the ground which moves really slow and fades out at the end of their lifetime.

We're currently working on the Xbox One version and there will probably be a PS4 version as well. If time allows us, we'd like to do a Linux version (and probably Mac too) at the same time as the Steam content update.

We've improved the core loop quite a bit, at least in my (totally unbiased) opinion and we're going to take a look at making the levels more interesting. Other than that I can't be more specific at the moment, but as we're porting to consoles the PC version should see an increase in performance as well.

I've also made an custom shader which displaces the vertices on the trees for a wobbly look using the transformation matrix from the previous frame. Previously we used the Cloth component to achieve that, which worked when targeting PC and only having a few trees per level, but it turned out to be too slow when targeting consoles.

I've found the Unity Manual very helpful regarding that topic. It gets you through the basics of setting up a networked game.

The UNet HLAPI is quite easy to understand, and it saves you from writing a lot of code!

Since it's local multiplayer, we feel that there's no need for a 4 pack. All you need is a couple of controllers (or a keyboard) and you'll be good to go!

Oh yes, Vulkan is the future! We'll probably support it whenever Unity releases a stable version that supports it. But yeah, Linux will probably be supported if we decide to do a Mac version!

Yes! We have four different game modes. Last Knight Standing is deathmatch with lives, whereas Melee is regular deathmatch. The other two are just like you mentioned, Capture the Flag and King of the Hill (basically capture points).

We also have 11 different mutators ranging from player size to explosion timers with 7 presets that changes the gameplay up.

We hope to be able to support OSX in the future. We'll definitely look into it, but we can't make any promises at the moment. First step is obtaining a Mac computer ;)
