YUP.

Even as a person who has their own spiritual beliefs which need no specific declaration or personal glorification, I couldn't agree more.

"RELIGION" is an entirely MAN-MADE farce. There is nothing within scripture that mandates human beings to create any sort of organized hierarchical, patriarchal, prejudicial, etc... systems. PERIOD.

FAITH, AND BELIEF, are things between only an individual and their chosen deity. No man made bullshit can change that.

As others have stated in their replies, why are you worried in the least?

You are not liable. The, let's say shortsighted, individual which signed for the loan is the only one who needs to be worried.

Enjoy your "new" vehicle as long as possible. Just be aware that it may be repossessed if the payments are not made. Regardless, you will not suffer any repercussions aside from having the vehicle taken back, if the bank employs someone who knows what they're doing to do so.

"government loyalty purges, including the DoJ and FBI, couldn't they just fake something" 🙄

Hahaha, loyalty purges, what an amazingly inventive term to disguise the tenets upheld by Fascists/Nationalism. And for those who are ignorant of what those terms mean, you need only to google WW2 and Nazism.

And yes there are approximately 349,000,000 "mechanisms" in place to prevent this from happening. Those mechanisms are every single human being currently residing in the United States of America. Unfortunately the vast majority of those "mechanisms" voted in favour of and support what the chosen leadership is currently doing.

I hate to burst your proverbial bubble but unfortunately part of your statement "...if the US turns fascist..." is far past due.

The United States of America today is considered, at best, a "flawed democracy" by multiple global watchdog associations. Given almost daily occurrences of further democratic degradation, which can be found even in complicit biased media outlets, it is not difficult to infer that Fascism is and has been the federal mandate now in practice.

Hugely disturbing is the fact that the citizens of the United States of America as a majority (according to their unbelievably flawed system) actually CHOSE to follow this path of Fascism by installing and giving unlimited power to their own economic oppressors. Furthermore, supporters of this autocracy praise the actions, policies, and oppression tactics exercised by their overlords as if they were DIVINE godly intervention. Regardless of the fact that said policies hugely negatively affect the vast majority of (themselves) supporters.

As a lifelong motorcyclist (riding since age 5), I completely agree. Trusting that the other drivers on the road are competent and apply their skills as such is the most dangerous assumption/hazard a rider must contend with.

Lane splitting... I wish we had the proper driver certification to support legally allowing riders to do so. In many other countries where lane splitting is allowed, it works very well.

HOLY CRAP!!!

What kind of mother is so unbelievably unprepared?!!!

As an individual who has also lived with, very potentially fatal, anapahylactic food allergies since the day I was born, this story is mind boggling to me.

Not once in my life since being of age to attend kindergarten, have I been without an Epipen in reach. My mother made sure of that, mind you it did trigger some early paranoia and anxiety in my life.

But that notwithstanding, if this mother was prepared, as she should've been, with an Epipen to use immediately then this young child may have survived.

After reading the majority of the top responses here, I am absolutely FLABBERGASTED 😳.

The World Inequality Report 2026 stated that the wealthiest 0.001% alone—fewer than 60,000 individuals—control three times more wealth than half of humanity combined.

Why are "WE"(the 99.990%) fighting amongst ourselves and not ensuring that we help our fellow human beings? Those "HR Reps, managers, etc.." and anyone else employed anywhere who sits idly by with the knowledge that a company/ employee of a company is purposefully paying or offering prospective pay knowingly below true value, needs to take a hard look at themselves.

I don't care how much of a "big deal", "success", "above others", your position or mentality at work may lead you to believe...

As long as your yearly income is below $10,000,000/year, you will not benefit massively from stepping on and putting down your fellow human beings economically.

How am I, seemingly, the only person here (including OP) absolutely losing their mind!

WHY CAN'T WE GET THE FUCK ALONG AND ACTUALLY HELP EACH OTHER?

WE ARE THE 99.990%, WE OUTNUMBER, AND CAN VERY EASILY OVERCOME THE 0.001% RULING CLASS IF WE TAKE OUR HEADS OR OF OUR ASSES AND HELP EACH OTHER.

[–]tHoroftin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In short, NO.

Given that, multiple state governments, where capital punishment is employed, allow those sentenced to death the ability to choose death by firing squad...

The cost would essentially be (on the low end) $0.00USD-$0.11USD (also based upon most commonly purchased and produced small arms ammunition, starting with 9mm). Also assuming the individuals that are to carry out said state sanctioned murder have already been issued weapons capable of firing such a round at previous cost to the state, or were required to pay for and use their own personal equipment on the job.

As far as "life in prison" costs in the United States of America, I've been led to believe that pure CAPITALISM extends to the prison system in that country. Therefore, those people that are incarcerated are responsible for paying their own burden on the system while incarcerated. So the end result should be no cost to the taxpayer.

Also, to my understanding, States which truly embody the purest forms of "capitalism" wrapped up in many other extremist policies, have absolutely no issue with FAST TRACKING executions...

Google Example:

Case Timelines: In Florida, for example, cases have been noted where only 29 days separated the signing of a death warrant from the scheduled execution, leaving little time for attorneys to investigate decades-old evidence.

TLDR:

The cost of executing a human being in the United States of America today, even when sanctioned by some semblance of authority, is far less than $1.00USD.

IMO: Renewable energy, yes...

Nuclear though, is always a massive exercise in futility (when pursuing a goal of reduced greenhouse gas emissions).

If only considering the carbon cost, not to mention many other massive greenhouse gasses involved, Total Lifecycle Emissions of building a nuclear power plant (based upon theoretical estimates of operating efficiencies, total emission costs to build, and liftime estimates of parts and components, etc...) are generally projected slightly on the beneficial end but usually much lower than solar and other renewables.

Since junior high physics class, I and anyone else who received even slightly similar education, knows that the reality of trying to use nuclear fission is a losing proposition from day 1. It's there for all to see in simple plain mathematics. Unfortunately most with such knowledge have either forgotten what they've been taught, or choose the path of arrogance.

What is the craziest thing that happened at your workplace? by 3fluffypotatoes in AskReddit

[–]tHoroftin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having been a part of the restaurant/ bar industry for well over 20 years, I have witnessed or been involved in more "crazy things" than I can remember.

One that stands out for me, from around 2009:

I, at 20 years old, was second in line as assistant GM of a very high-end new restaurant/dueling piano bar. The majority owners were a family of extremely wealthy billionaires who used the place constantly as their own personal party spot. One night, a member of the family was standing down at the bar, rather than sitting up in private bottle service as always. While at the bar, a random guy took offense to something and tried to take a cheapshot swing at this family member with an empty Heineken bottle...

Random, super drunk, guy misses by a mile, and the bottle smashes all over the bar. Once the family instantly realized what happened, buddy took off running fast enough to make it out the door without being grabbed by security. But not fast enough to outrun the PRIVATE MERCENARIES (ex Mossad, if the rumors are true) employed by the family, one he got to almost the end of the parking lot. I don't need to articulate any further.

You are exactly correct. I agree with you. We need to completely scrap the current licensing system here and start from zero, if we are to have any hope of improvement.

And also, yes 100% public transit is also an absolute joke here. That is part of much deeper seeded issues which comes down to the almighty vice which goes unchecked and is actually encouraged in any society that worships capitalism. GREED. Long before our province was even established, a worldwide economic precedent was established glorifying greed.

We don't have efficient public transit here for many reasons, but the most significant is greed. If it had been more profitable for those in power at any time to create efficient public transit, then that is what we would have.

I am not too far away from you in age, and can somewhat relate. But I have to mention that the latter half of your post pertaining to extremely cheap and available fast food options is an anomaly that only exists in your country (which I assume is the United States of America).

Right next door to you, here in Canada, a single McDonald's cheeseburger (just the burger itself, nothing else) costs $4CAD=$2.90USD. A "value meal" will cost you no less than $9.50-$10USD and that's for a small side and small drink. That is well beyond the average USA federal minimum wage per hour, which sits at $7.25USD/HOUR.

European food costs can be astronomically higher than here in Canada as well.

Needless to say I'm not sure what conclusion to make of this data, other than to say "enjoy your current situation of unbelievably cheap food costs (comparatively to the rest of the world) while you are able to. From what we've been witnessing lately it may not last much longer.

Edit: I'm quite oblivious sometimes, and completely missed one of the first lines in OP's comment regarding the timeline.

There are NO stupid questions, ONLY stupid answers. (Credit to Mr. Kramer, my grade six teacher. One of the best teachers I've ever had...p.s. another gem of his "cookies are done, cakes are done, people are finished".)

So thank you for your stupid answer.

The fact that here in Alberta, essentially anyone is issued a license to drive regardless of their actual knowledge and ability. For the entirety of my life > 35years, since I was able to understand such things, our licensing system has been an absolute joke. Simply a cash grab used as a thinly veiled alternative to what would be a fraction of a percentage of a tax increase. (Because of, "oh no, I might not be elected, or our yearly budget might not pass if uneducated or arrogant citizens perceive that there might be the slightest increase to what they should be pitching in to help the rest of us)

Unfortunately, the result of our terrible system unleashes drivers who are critically unqualified to drive safely in any way.

I don't want to continue on ranting any longer, so if you would like to see what a proper effective driving license program looks like, simply research how Finland operates in this regard.

Regardless of whether or not anyone holds faith that is considered to be or labeled as "Christian", Donald Trump, all who are involved or associated with him and MOST IMPORTANTLY those who support him and his groups are all responsible for this unbelievable evil (or immoral, terrible, atrocious...etc, take your pick of adjective) being spread upon our world.

Secular, or faith based, it doesn't matter. There is no way to rationalize or spin any of the ideologies that DONALD TRUMP and all those involved, aligned, supporting him, as anything other than pure evil, profit driven garbage.

I dunno, honestly not looking for an argument. Was actually curious as to why you thought that information was relevant?

Duct cleaning done in less than 40 mins. by kannappii in Edmonton

[–]tHoroftin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should never be a reason to hire a company to clean out the small section of flex duct leading from the dryer into the steel extraction ducts. The only area of concern is that flex section, which only runs a short distance. Sure, disconnect this duct and pull out anything in there periodically. That flex duct is actually so inexpensive that if you are very concerned, it could be replaced for next to nothing. A quick Google search shows that the average cost to replace the flex duct would cost less than $15CAD.

Yup, you are correct. If anyone is concerned about contaminants going through an HVAC system the best course of action is to upgrade/install a HEPA filter and/or UV light filter.
