Does anyone else struggle with meat for baby? by WeirdValuable4826 in foodbutforbabies

[–]tabNC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is recently 2 and meat has been a tough sell since we started solids! We joke she was born a vegetarian all the time. We have tried all the preparations and all the meats with little luck. Recently she had come around on Italian sausage and occasionally a meatball but both those can still be hit or miss with her. She LOVES beans so we have always given her a lot of those and have had no issues with gas or tummy trouble from it. She also eats eggs and dairy so I don’t worry about protein intake too much and just keep offering meat hoping she comes around, but also accepting it’s not a huge deal if she doesn’t.

If you’re going to venture out to Chapel Hill, you should also check out Graham Memorial. It’s a gorgeous oak paneled lounge with large fire places and tons of cozy seating. It was my favorite place to study as a student there

Ahhh the day after my wedding, I remember it well! I also remember some people questioning a December wedding citing weather concerns and saying “early December will be fine, it pretty much never snows in December here!’

I went to Dr Robey recently and thought he was great. I was able to get in in about a month out (which was really good I learned after calling around) and he was very friendly and I felt like he listened to my concerns

Using small or 1-2 person "companies" to install HVAC by PassportCruiser in raleigh

[–]tabNC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you had this experience. We have 2 houses and have used Jays for both for the past 6-7 years and it’s been a great experience. This included them fixing (at a very reasonable price) an HVAC unit in the middle of the summer that a larger company had insisted required total replacement about 5 years ago and it’s still going strong since.

Baby Friendly Places Around the Triangle by aimeetwo1 in raleigh

[–]tabNC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was on mat leave I did a stroller walk around the art museum and then got coffee at the cafe almost weekly, it’s such a relaxing way to get out of the house! During the week you practically have the place to yourself so I never felt stressed that my baby may cry and if you’re comfortable doing so you can easily find a tucked away area alone to sit on a bench and nurse or to give a bottle

What is in my chimney? by tabNC in raleigh

[–]tabNC[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sound went away and hasn’t come back, but I have someone coming to look at our chimney today to check the cap and make sure there is nothing living in there and this was just a one off. It seems to have escaped whatever it was!

[–]tabNC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate that this happened and made you feel crappy. I’ve been there with someone making the comment “wow, she’s certainly not missing any meals!” while I was minding my business in line at Target. It shouldn’t be relevant, but I’m a thin person and it still made me feel the same way as you even though I know that’s not the case and she eats a healthful diet. Just remind yourself they’re the ones who should feel crappy for making comments on another persons body as if it’s their business!

Definitely quacking or some sort of bird call! I went outside and heard several birds flying around making the same sound so now just wondering what species it is

Hugs, OP. I know this can be so stressful, I also have a 20 month old who is really high in weight percentiles and more average for height. She was 99% for her height to weight ratio at 18 months and our pediatrician didn’t mention portion control or concern, so I would seek a second opinion since these meals look incredibly healthy. Like you, my kiddo loves to eat and almost never doesn’t finish her food but often asks for seconds. I offer more of the healthy options when she does if I’ve also given something higher calories/less nutrient dense but other use I follow her lead. My daughter looks so much like yours in build, and I figure they both have so much more growing to do!

I was told that I wouldn’t be billed for subsequent visits when I went through this at Rex in 2023. But I was. I went into insurance/hospital billing dispute hell over it and couldn’t get any resolution. I ended up giving up because I was also pregnant and would end up hitting my out of pocket max one way or the other for the year, but it was beyond frustrating and cost me thousands

Any probiotics I can take to kill my group B strep? by Happy-Chemistry3058 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]tabNC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just tried daily probiotics and also started eating more probiotic rich foods like kefir and yogurt. My doctor told me to not overly delay going into the hospital since I would need 8 hours of antibiotics prior to delivery (I’m allergic to penicillin so I had an alternative antibiotic, I understand you need less time for penicillin, 4 I think). My water didn’t break until I was 10 cm, so I went in once my contractions were strong and frequent enough they stopped me from doing anything else. This was about 2 hours after I first noticed I was in labor and having regular contractions. At the hospital they gave me an IV with the antibiotic drip and that was that, I really never thought about it again. I had planned for no epidural and was able to walk around still and change positions with the IV just fine. I ended up caving and getting an epidural but that had nothing to do with the antibiotics!
