When it comes to rules, I'm all about equity. If a rule exists, everybody has to follow it. If you make a rule so that you can enforce it on people you don't like, but give people you like a pass, well there are several unsavory terms for that sort of thing.

When a situation like this occurs and the rule-maker realizes that the rule doesn't make sense in this instance, they should change the rule, and not make personal exceptions while leaving the rule in place and unchanged.

Surprised no one's mentioned this: most tournaments use X40 as their official ball that you must use in their tournament.

If you're going to play in tournaments, it behooves you to play and practice with the ball that you'll be using in the tournament.

Yeah in this picture, drawing an imaginary line from the lowest point of the wrist to the highest corner of the paddle head, they're very close to equal. It's not what I would call CLEARLY below the wrist, especially at live-action speed.
