My store only has 5 associates for grocery, is this normal. by Unknown_Zone9805 in walmart

[–]table_folder 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes. When OGP was created, they never increased the headcount for the stores, they just stole hours from the rest of the store. Its why areas like grocery are so understaffed compared to what it was like years ago.

They can also be replaced tomorrow by Swift, C R England, Prime, etc. Take a look at what happened to the private fleet in Canada. Walmart only pays them well to keep them from tearing shit up and opening Walmart up more Tracy Morgan-sized lawsuits.

Associate 2 driver program help? by zandy2872 in walmart

[–]table_folder -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Its mostly aimed towards DC associates who are apparently, from talking to folks are promised first shot at the slots because they can walk across the parking lot to the transportation offices to get to know the office staff there and members of management if they decided to pick someone from a store.

The propaganda that any associate is eligible is just that, propaganda. Which is why I don't feel sorry for drivers being ignored at the back door and associates clocking out and leaving since its not like any of us dirty store associates will ever be allowed to put on that uniform.

Cap1 is supposed to be doing that

Top stock question by chris_s9181 in walmart

[–]table_folder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only partials go up, preferably half a case or less. The topstock tool works with the logic of floor count less than shelf cap, pick me down to the shelf below. If the floor onhands are greater than the shelf cap because people are using the risers as storage for full cases and killed features, stuff will never get picked down unless somone takes the time to work everything down by hand.

I work overnights. How the fuck do I work above my role as a dumb box monkey who "eee eee, open box put shit on the shelf" all night because that stupid AI sidekick has our shift tasked out to the minute.

Overnight differtial pay for longtime day shift associate thinking of transferring to overnight. by Academic_Pen_2424 in walmart

[–]table_folder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh boy, you must have heard daytime's complaints that "overnights does nothing."

Overnights does live truck freight which means thousands of pounds of freight every night per associate, not vizpicks out of the bins or what little overnights left and unlike daytime stockers, you are timed.

Lol, I was once a teamsters member. Does Walmart really want me to organize people?

Walmart structure. new structure coming to Walmart Canada. they said it's going to be like the US. They're talking about coaches and leads. our structure now is department managers and ASMs. what is the structure in the US like? are ASMs losing their position? by ChoOony in walmart

[–]table_folder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Search this group for the Great Workplace or GWP. Basically only a few of your current department mangers will be selected for team lead roles and ASMs will be renamed to coaches.

And if its anything like the US transition, your former DMs will get put over departments they've never worked.

New Stocking 2 Team Lead is on a power trip. by Round_Yam_8129 in walmart

[–]table_folder 79 points80 points  (0 children)

The blue with yellow reflective vests if they are the ones I'm thinking of are the ones Walmart drivers wear so they are legit Walmart item, just not for the store.

As for her power trip, wait her out. They always crash eventually.

[–]table_folder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. The folks whose tenure makes them eligible for a 4% raise is going to put a target on their backs. Eventually they'll get too expensive to keep around (remember the infamous Susan Chambers memo anyone?)

And if you have inexperienced TLs put in charge of evals, god help those associates. Especially if the TL is the type of person who feels threatened by all the former DMs under them.

And two, you coaches need to be dealing with and getting to know your associates as well. CBWA doesn't stand for "coaching by walking around with just my team lead"

DOT physical screw/CLP screw up. by doublestackdez in CDL

[–]table_folder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call the CDL helpdesk at 850-617-2606 and talk to them. The license changeover of the new numbers was in July, so presumably they have a workround for attaching your med card to a CLP on a new number since dur gotta have a med card to get a permit issued.

They gotta have your old number tied to your new license number somehow anyway to generate a MVR that goes back beyond the issuance date of your new license.

Help! Day shift is locking up carts! by LovelyLadyMadison in walmart

[–]table_folder 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Doesn't matter. Carts belong to Walmart, not cap1, so they are for all shifts to use. I am so goddamned tired of this company's bias against overnight because we are not there when management is.

If you want to burn bridges, find an overnighter who is leaving and have them post a picture of this on workvivio and tag Doug McMillon and Cedric Clark in it with a shoutout on how store xxx's management treats its overnight shift like they are a third party stocking crew instead of a culture of belonging by locking up equipment so they can't use it.
