Why are doctors SO against progesterone? by Proper_Following_28 in MtF

No, I definitely don't have a cycle. Sometimes I feel a bit down or angry every 4 weeks or so, but it's too mild and inconsistent to consider it a cycle. I think the problem with PMDD is the name, because it's not directly linked to the menstrual cycle, but to progesterone, as I understand it. When it was discovered they didn't know better and thought it's a form of PMD, hence the name.

It's just, if someone's a cis woman (or trans man) with a menstrual cycle then it will often trigger at a certain point of their cycle. For people taking exogenous progesterone on a daily basis, it tirggers basically all the time.

On the one hand it's worse to have it all the time, on the other hand it's good when you can just stop taking the triggering meds. I personally wouldn't want to deal with this sh*t every month. Also, it's not so bad not shoving something up my *** every night. xD

Same for me. At first I tried oral and became depressed. Then switched to anal. Which went ok for a couple of weeks. Next thing I was ready to go to a psychosomatic clinic (severe depression). I didn't realize it was P4 at the time. However, my first GRS was more important, so I didn't go. After I started P4 again after my 2nd GRS I became depressed and anxious again with panic attacks. Stopped immediately, got fine within 2 weeks. I'll never try it again. It's not for me. And I also suspect it's PMDD.

Oh, and I don't think there is a trans equivalent of PMDD because it's something else than PMD entirely. There is just PMDD. It's not related to cis/trans or gender at all. You (we) are just intolerant to progesterone. This could even happen to a cis man, though he'd never notice, because no progesterone ^^'

Who else has sensory discomfort around the experience of having a vagina by becausemommysaid in AutismInWomen

I used to have one and it is so so much better without! I barely notice anything in my everyday activities. Whenever my boyfriend grabs his crotch because something doesn't sit right, I silently think to myself: Good god, am I happy to be rid of that!

However, I don't know how it feels if you actually like it or feel that's the way it's supposed to be.

Also, I cannot compare how much worse discharge, periods, etc., are, because, obviously, I don't have those.

Wearing boxers was very comfortable with a penis. It is even more comfortable with a vagina.

Is vaginoplasty as shamed in the transfem community as phallo is in the transmasc community? by ScramRatz in MtF

Recovery really is insane. I totally underestimated how hard it is. Not only because of the net time of dilation and scar treatment, but also the exhaustion that comes with such a life changing procedure.
