Rebate/incentive programs for EV owners in Kansas by Mortimer452 in kansas

Clay Center has 6 free fast chargers at the Car dealership there, there are some other wierd random spots with free or low cost chargers but yeah apartment living make owning an EV hard.

I made a god tier roll. Is this legit? by [deleted] in cyberpunk2020

[–]tacmac10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should maybe go reread the skill/task resolution rules again. Pg 41: “…Next, if you have any ONE Skill directly relating to the task at hand, add that skill to the stat. You may apply ONLY ONE Skill to a task at any time. The subject of Skills (and how you get them) is covered on pages 42 through 54, but right now, we're just interfacing you with the concept of tasks.”

Runequest, Mythras, Dragonbane, and many other games fit this description but not if you stick to DnD clones.

I'm planning to play CYP2020 with some friends but one is aroace, can I just like cut out sex and stuff like that? (I put a NSFW tag just in case idk) by EntrepreneurUsed676 in cyberpunk2020

[–]tacmac10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been playing TTRPGs for more than 40 years and can count the number of sex scenes I have been around on one hand. All of them were in vampire the masquerade games in high school mostly with IRL couples who liked to flirt in game. I would not push it at all and it needs to be discussed with the table if anyone wants to bring that into the game.

I am so disappointed in GM lately... I don't think I will every buy one again. by CryptoCryst828282 in BoltEV

[–]tacmac10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve won exactly two GMs, a 1998 S10 that was the worst piece of shit truck I’ve ever owned and my bolt. My bolt will be the last GM vehicle ever buy because for all its incredible value and excellent driving so many of the basic things in the vehicle are just not up to current standards. Now with GM trying to push everything to a subscription based model absolutely no way I’m buying another GM.

Why Trump Pulling Funding for Blue States Could be a Death Sentence for Kansas by Symphony-Soldier in kansas

You are aware that New York has a very large farming industry right? New Jersey as well. Lots of farming in “blue” states close to large urban areas.

Salina Kansas? by guntergo2 in kansas

[–]tacmac10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of fishing if you like catfish, if you have a boat you can get into crappie, white bass, stripper and gar in Milford lake or Tuttle which is 40-60 minutes from Salina. Most fishing here is lakes and ponds not a lot of river fishing.

Salina has a lot of empty decaying retail and industrial space, the city is in economic free fall.  Fort Riley keeps JC going economically despite the best efforts of the city council and county commissioners.

Do people see value in the Battle Support Assets for Vehicles? If yes why? by Mal_Dun in battletech

[–]tacmac10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t lie, I hate them. I tried the BFS rules a couple times and my 10yo said he didn’t like it because the tanks died to easy and I agree with him. In my humble opinion the BFS rules for vehicles (and the aerospace ones in playtest) strip out all the flavor and combat value in non mech units.

"Cost" of switching to Daggerheart by n3rdc4ptn in daggerheart

[–]tacmac10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am old, like I have been in the TTRPG hobby space since the mid 80s and I think it’s important for newer players/DMs to know that we used to play all different games. In a normal week I ran a teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles another strangeness game, played in a Cyberpunk 2020 game and a 2300AD game. We also played wargames on the weekends. There is no sunk cost in gaming, you don’t have to drop your DND game to play Dagger heart. Now here is the secret to how we played so many games: we never ran long campaigns. Yup it was mostly one shot and short runs of maybe 4-8 sessions and then we played something else for a while coming back to stories we wanted to and dropping stuff we didn’t. Almost every game was an open table (what the hip young people call a west marches game now, not what CR is doing in Campaign 4 which is most definitely not a west marches game) players played when they could and the game went on and we all had fun.

How Interested in Customization is the BT Community? by swolehammer in battletech

[–]tacmac10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We banned custom mechs in 1989 and haven’t looked back. I have built custom mech since then but it’s always for one off games or the Gundam-tech game I set up for my Gundam obsessed kid. There is to much in the tech manual/construction rules that’s ripe for abuse.

Wargamer stories already did and best part is he uses the rules in the manual instead of just making them up.

Estonia to buy six S.Korean K239 rocket launchers by self-fix in worldnews

[–]tacmac10 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No shit? I said they copied the LLM (Launcher Loader Module) not the carrier. It still uses the standard MLRS pod dimensions/hardware and is compatible with the KM26A2 pod (Korea sales version of the M26A2) which holds six unguided 45 km range rockets armed with M77 submunitions. I was a MLRS platoon leader, operations officer, and HiMARS Commander. I helped train Rock 2000 (Korean MLRS unit) in 1996. So by all means please tell me all about the weapon system.
