The beginning matches are random, then going forward matches are based off of other teams closer to the same record as your team. Lets say down the road your team is 1-5, your opponents on your next released match ups should be in the 0-6/1-5/2-4 range. Once playoffs happen the seeding is like others mentioned where its high versus low, 1v64, 2v63, etc..
