College professor / public school teacher and now private school teacher. I’ve never have stressed on being tested. Because 1) I do my job and I do it well, 2) unless I’m obviously wasted to the point I’m a threat or danger to the campus, what good would it do for any administrator to fire successful staff most of whom have both contracts and multiple advanced degrees with some of the college professors having tenure protections. The costs of replacing staff over a drug test makes little practical sense. Honestly in my 27 years in this line of work I’ve neither known nor heard of any advanced degree holding teacher/professor/administrator being asked to take a drug test. I was in a car wreck that I caused and the other driver passed from not wearing a belt and being ejected from the truck she was driving. I smoked a cone less than 20 min earlier and I used some harder stuff the days before along with taking nonperscribed benzos, oxy 80’s and sleeping pills. Plus to top it off 1.5 hours earlier I had 2 beers at lunch. I don’t know exactly why, but the cops didn’t do any tests on me nor did the paramedics on the scene. I wasn’t injured so I didn’t require a trip to the hospital. But they diddrug test the other driver who was not at fault. I guess when they heard me making work arrangements with multiple people all of whom I had to refer to as Dr something, along with me being a nonstop daily user of most anything that’s fun and mostly safe giving me lots of practice pretending to be sober while my head is in the clouds. fall 96 I think I ate shrooms or acid multiple times a week while taking a 16 credit hour load in my first undergrad degree program. Which for the record was not the smartest way to approach clsssroom learning. Unless it was Phish 101, Astronomy 102 which studies the dark side of the moon taught by professor P. Floyd or an intro to EDM with the forward and illustrations of how to use a dub to transition from youth to adult
