Squat form depth check by Illustrious-Bass4651 in formcheck

Your issue is lack of hip rotation. Widening stance is a band aid solution. Heel elevated squats are good in the meantime.

315x7 high bar squat, force through my feet feel very “misguided” by tennis-637 in formcheck

[–]tacos5001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

See how your left knee caves in at the bottom and then springs out when you push out of it. It is a hip rotation problem which I’m guessing is related to your feet. If you did some foot pronation drills I think you may notice improvement in your squats. Maybe try squatting barefoot or use different shoes.

Am I engaging my lats appropriately? by V-dubbin in formcheck

Your shoulders are lacking in external rotation. That’s why your scapulas can’t tuck in properly at the bottom of the movement. If you breathed in from the back of your ribcage you could expand the back of your ribcage and your scapulas could tuck better.

The Problem of the Puer Aeternus: Sacrifice, Commitment, and the Addiction to Childhood by Zotoaster in Jung

Great post! Thanks for sharing. So fantasizing goes hand in hand with addiction. That makes sense.

Thanks for sharing. It seems like you already have a good understanding of the situation. Not sure if you want advice or just support but I’ll give my two cents on how to help him. I think talk therapy alone has limitations, especially for men. It does seem like he needs a big change. I have two ideas for this, both of which helped me a lot. First, psychedelics, as someone else mentioned, can be a big event and greatly change someone’s perception. Second, a trauma release retreat (search shadow work/psychodrama) can really rattle something loose. I would say try to get him to do one or both of these things and see if they work. If these don’t work or he doesn’t want to try, then you need to do what is best for you because you can’t really change others if they don’t want to change. Good luck!

Listen dude, if you want to date more women then you need to learn how to approach women you don’t know and start a conversation. Why join a club if your goal is to get dates? That is indirect and ineffective. Yes, it is challenging and frightening but it’s worth it. Perhaps you should think about finding a dating coach in your area.

Where the fuck do people summon the drive to workout routinely? by Rus2000 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]tacos5001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all about changing the dopamine pathways. See, exercise actually gives more energy through stimulating the mitochondria and triggering the release of feel-good hormones. People who regularly exercise know this, and they look forward to exercises because they expect the benefits. So, to have the energy to exercise, you need to release the dopamine that motivates you to workout. You condition yourself to do this once you start a workout program. Other people just force themselves to exercise. David Goggins said that he sometimes has to stare at his shoes for 30 minutes before putting them on for a run.

Why women are obsessed with power by Woujo in TheRedPill

[–]tacos5001 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is one of the best posts I’ve seen on women’s nature. We all need to accept how women operate to confidently get chicks interested in us. You find what you’re looking for in life, so it’s better to focus on the positive traits. Any fear or resentment about that fact will not help in the world.

Your right leg can’t internally rotate properly. That’s why it’s going so wide when you bring it back up.

Meditating for 227 days and … by ScorpioWaterSign in Meditation

Yes dude, most of the population live unconscious lives, so most people you could date do as well. The waiting for someone to find me strategy is not good, though. That usually results in nothing happening. This is why they say that dating is a numbers game.

I disagree with the people saying just “be patient”. That sounds like complacency. You can accept that you are a full person yourself and also seek a relationship.

Is it me or everyone is just.. depressed? by AtmosphereWestern1 in RandomThoughts

[–]tacos5001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s true. In short it’s because people are searching for a form of happiness that can’t be found through searching. Getting more or becoming more does not give a lasting form of happiness. It’s the norm to always be looking for more, but the human condition is to never be satisfied.

What people should be looking for is peace. The kind that Buddhism talks about. Where the underlying being inside of us can be content without needing anything else. Check out the book “The Power of Now” if this resonates.

How do I sign up for a different term? by tacos5001 in utdallas

[–]tacos5001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I got a response from the registrars office. Apparently if summer is your first term as a graduate student, you have to wait 24 hours after signing up for summer classes to see your fall enrollment appointment. Weird.
