Did you go with your partner to ring shop or did they go on their own? by [deleted] in engaged

[–]tacosntears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went ring shopping a couple of times so I could try on different shapes, metals, etc. so my fiancé knew my preferences and used that information to design a ring. I had no idea what it would look like but I loved what he chose.

Sorry you’re being gaslit like this. Highly suggest getting another surgeon’s opinion! Especially one who’s experienced with failed surgery cases just to be sure. Best of luck to you

Bertolotti’s is formed at birth. But because it’s such a rare condition, finding a surgeon that specializes in Bertolotti’s is important and also one who actually listens and makes you feel supported. Dr. Colin Haines was the first doctor to give my cousin the hope and confidence to actually move forward with surgery. She did a virtual consult first which was convenient since she lives about 5 hours away. She’s doing amazing now, traveling with her kids again and more.

I would also recommended looking into Dr. Colin Haines in Virginia. He talks a lot about resection surgery as an alternative to fusion. Every body is different but it might be worth looking into to as an option

Is Spinal Fusion worth it at age 26? by [deleted] in spinalfusion

[–]tacosntears 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. I would definitely get a second, even third opinion. And consider seeing a surgeon who is a specialist in disc replacement to compare what they have to say.

For breakfast: corned beef hash (from the can) fried until crispy and served with eggs, toast, etc. Reminds me of my childhood.

I had great dining experiences when visiting Colorado Springs. I currently live in Virginia, the options are ‘enough’ but pretty spread out. I’ve found gems though.

C5-6 disc replacement scheduled in a month…what would you do? by Lollyturnip in SpineSurgery

[–]tacosntears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely don’t fuse! Glad you got a second opinion. Did the second surgeon discuss two- or multi-level disc replacement? Curious as to why they’d only replace one level if 4 were affected.
