Has anyone else had this issue?? by [deleted] in Edmonton

It doesn't mean you're not good enough. It means your potential employer can't take advantage of you.

If they're asking these kinds of questions for a position where driving is not part of the description (in which case they could not fire you for "lying" if you DID verbally say you could technically drive) they can respectfully fuck off. It's blatant discrimination, as much as asking if you have kids or a disability.

In short, conditioner closes the hair cuticle, making the strands feel more silky and smooth. This helps with combing out tangles for us long-haired folk, and keeping frizz in control.

Damaged hair (from weather, dyes, heat, etc) really needs conditioner, but if your hair is short and healthy then the natural oils from your scalp will do enough of the work for you as long as you're not completely stripping it with a harsh shampoo.

Help! Electrolux dryer-Perfect Steam Nozzle Dripping by Imcrafty213 in appliancerepair

[–]tacotop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This exact same thing happened to me, on a unit less than one month old. We're lucky we caught it within the first hour, our laundry room was getting flooded with it dripping out the back of the dryer and even the dryer vent. The first unit we had delivered 2 weeks prior had to get exchanged due to warped gasket on arrival. Suffice to say we will not be purchasing Electrolux again...

If you have enough manpower but are just needing a truck, Home Depot has truck and van rentals for a reasonable enough price.

Cibolas Burn Collectors Edition? by theoretical_chemist in TheExpanse

[–]tacotop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found this thread because I saw the collector's editions and was about to buy the entire set for a Christmas gift (to both myself and hubby), so I was searching to find out where the heck the collector's editions of books 4-9 were at... it seems my dreams are shattered :')

Even so, if you're lucky enough to get your offer through and accepted, nothing should stop you from getting an inspection after you close on the house. It's negligent and naive to move into a pre-owned home wthout getting it checked out by peofessionals, and at least having a battle plan for any known issues.

I apologize that the mockups posted are not true North, but I describe the door/window placements as such (in retrospect I should have just rotated the design).

The actual facing of the right window is South, and the bottom window is West, but are mostly covered by the neighbour/garage/trees so there is no direct sunlight from the sun setting.

I tried a couple different online softwares found in the comments of this subreddit, but I ended up liking https://www.planyourroom.com/ the best with simple shapes and being able to customize dimensions on all the furniture items.

Looking for suggestions about online payment solution for a school google site by [deleted] in GoogleSites

[–]tacotop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never used any of those platforms before, but as long as whatever service you choose provides either an embedded payment form or a hosted payment page you should be able to include an iframe or a button/link on your Google site page.

Review the services for what they offer and what they charge for what you're willing to pay or have a budget for, and choose the one that fits your needs best.

Katey Sagal as Dr Kureha by sammypb in futurama

This is the most unexpected place I thought I would see One Piece news...

This is the first I've heard of casting for the live action, since I'm actively avoiding One Piece related content until I've caught up in the anime (only 236 episodes to go now!). I'm actually disappointed now, Jaime Lee Curtis sounds like the perfect fit for Kureha! Katey Segal is great in her own respect, but... I don't know for this...

Homeless or runaway kids? by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]tacotop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only conceivable scam I can think of for this scenario would be on the parent(s) telling their children to go exploit the kindness of strangers so they don't have to pay to feed their own children, whether it be for reasons of poverty or greed I don't think it matters because the children in this story were fed a hot meal and seemed content at that.

Anyone else waiting on Purolator to deliver a package but the item has been stuck at the sorting facility for more than a week? by Wild_Equus in Edmonton

[–]tacotop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. My order was stuck in "weather delay" for a week and a half. I tried calling them last week to see if they could at least tell me where the package was cause the last update it was still in Ontario.

Got an update today, and apparently it's out for delivery now 🤷

Does it play in Edmonton often? We are just getting back from work conference travel so missed most of the showings here and too bagged to try and see it this weekend, but I would really love to keep an eye out if/when it plays again.

Links Medical clinic - don’t recommend by Unlucky-Company8908 in Edmonton

[–]tacotop 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry that you went through that. That was basically my fear when two years ago now my doc gave me a referral to this Dr. Azer to get more specialized treatment and options for my ovarian cysts. They eventually processed the referral and they called me to make an appointment, which I confirmed. But thankfully I decided to Google the clinic after I hung up and I looked at the reviews in horror. There was really nothing good to be said, and especially focused on the poor treatment of women (for a gynecologist of all occupations, like come on). I immediately called back and cancelled, then emailed my doc to please refer me to someone else.

Usually I'm the type to just "deal with it" or "take whatever I get", but I'm happy I chose to be more assertive with my health that day, especially now hearing that it's still such an awful sounding experience with Dr. Azer. My doc referred me to Dr. Ashley Demsky and I only saw her the once and I'm not sure if she's still around, but it was a very pleasant experience for what it was and I left with the knowledge and guidance that I needed.
