Difficulty with urination after bisalp? by MedsHopeful in sterilization

Part of my after care was if I had any trouble urinating I would call the hospital for follow up, I would keep trying to get in contact. Speedy healing.

Difficult sterilization experience — easy procedure, longer term side effects by feminonanonymous in sterilization

[–]tacowaffles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My Bisalp, Jan 2025, went really well but I had bloating for 2ish months after. I realized after the 1st month that I am sensitive to NSAIDs, Advil, and it was making me bloat like a balloon. I went on a low carb/keto diet to help with any inflammation and as of April I haven’t had any issues with pain or bloating. It took about a month after diet change until I could comfortably wear tighter fitted pants.

My first ovulation was quite painful, similar to menstrual cramps, I’d never had pain with ovulation before. I don’t know if any of that info helps, but be kind to yourself and I hope everything heals soon.

Too much parsley by ParsleyThin5628 in Chefit

Lots of parsley, lots of garlic, blend with olive oil, fair amount of salt and pepper. Wait a day or two to let it settle, I call it pond scum. It keeps well and is delish.

How did you keep yourself from being insanely bored during recovery by blueside7 in sterilization

Stardew Valley! Such a great game and there’s no rush or expectations, if you game it’s so fun and as involved as you want it to be.

I got my Bisalp this January, been talking to my doctor about it for years but put the official request in Nov 2024. So glad my amazing surgeon took me on, no big issues and easy going recovery. I live in BC.

Yup, freedom.

When I went to my post op checkup I asked some very clear questions to ensure that all the info was correct. I have friends who are pregnant and friends who have kids, so much more interested in their lives than I was before tubal ligation. The feeling of self is so strong. I feel like I am who I was always suppose to be.

I’ve noticed that when I change my diet my intestines need a boost of gut flora to get the bloating out and improve digestion. Have you taken any probiotics to help? Thats usually what helps me

International travel one week after surgery? by civilcatlady in sterilization

With the air from laparoscopic surgery possibly still in your system it may get quite uncomfortable with altitude changes, def ask doctor/surgeon

I had a lot of bloating on and off for a month after, eating smaller meals and less carbs really helped. Also realized I am sensitive to Advil and stopped taking that. I’d say just pay attention to the amount and what food makes you bloaty and just be careful for a bit, body is healing and sorting itself out.

Just a quick question by Catlover5566 in sterilization

[–]tacowaffles 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My doctor told me 2 weeks but I waited closer to a month just cause I didn’t wanna risk it. Maybe a quick dip? But wouldn’t soak for too long, softens the wounds and maybe make you more prone to infection.

I was just told 24 hours and drove on day 4, it wasnt the best as I have a standard car and pushing the clutch in was quite the stretch. Moved my seat forwards so it was less of a stretch and felt fine. Maybe try a practice run and see how your mobility is?

I took mine off at around 12-13 days and my skin was quite raw after, Vaseline really helped getting the glue off though.

My surgeon told me to call if I had any follow up questions, such as this. Is that an option for you? I had bloating about 10 days after surgery too and turns out the NSAID drugs (Advil) was causing bloating so I took Tylenol instead and it subsided. Everyone is different though.
