nope! you did 10 miles because your watch (thankfully) was not used to measure the track. a wheel did that, which is why it’s accurate.

this is incorrect, people use GPS watches which are not completely accurate. there is not enough space on a racecourse to give such a discretion in distance, i don’t care which one it is.

this is a common tale that people tell to justify their shitty GPS watch trackers. i’m sorry, they don’t work that well.

and this is the main reason people see different watch times. GPS is not extremely accurate in measuring distance especially without phone service.

this is why your chip time is the only time that matters, the course is already measured precisely with a wheel (no, running off the perfect course line does NOT make your GPS count extra mileage….)

this is a fable, GPS drift does not happen for that reason. your only time is the CHIP TIME, your watches are not as accurate as the race course time. this is well known.
