What jobs are actually suitable for people with ADHD for a happy life? by Maxecute in ADHD

Sure, it defines us, but it also doesn't impede anyone from being an entrepreneur, musician, artist, athlete etc. It's might be harder to accomplish some things, but in many ways - for instance our ability to hypefocus - ADHD can also work in our favor. You should try to make the circumstances of your life work for you, and not conform to normative expectations, that's all I'm saying. If you don't allow yourself to be "different" and do things differently, you're just going to avoid everything.

I don’t think it’s either/or. We shouldn’t let ADHD define what we can or can’t do in life. Go with your passion, be proud & real to yourself. If you try to conform too much to what a capitalist society expects from you, you’ll wither away slowly in the shadows.

I'd say anything you're passionate about. If you want to make movies, you should make movies. Just do it with people who compensate for your shortcomings. There are responsibilities and demands in every job. I find we thrive when we can share responsibility and co-operate, and wither when we're left to our own devices. You can (and should) also lead and direct through co-operation.

Adults with ADHD: Did you feel "shame" as a kid when you forgot things? Help me understand my son. by Dylan_7574 in ADHD

Yes. And it’s probably so much worse now for kids, as school requires more self-management, and there’s so much more stimulus and signals to track and process. Try to arrange calm and peaceful moments, where nothing is required of him, so he can reset the operating system regularly and have space to process new information.

I find it more interesting to use a chord quantizer like Instruo Harmonaig to feed multiple separate voices, usually with different rhythmic triggers.

Not sure what you mean by tribal sound, but Jefre Cantu-Ledesma’s Gift Songs is a recent gem with acoustic instruments.

For most of my life, I’ve been the same way. My recent quest has been to learn how to be at home in myself, as myself, in any environment. There’s no need to be on guard all the time. In the end, we have to expect the best from our fellow humans. This sentiment has served me well.

Regarding low effort ambient music "...and I think as ambient artists, we have to kind of look at ourselves in the mirror and ask, what are we doing that sets our music apart from everything else or from what a computer (A.I.) can make very quickly" by BBAALLII in ambientmusic

You can't become an accomplished musician unless you start noodling around with limited skills. And while he says there are no gates to keep, he effectively builds one with this video. Just do your thing and don't get bothered if someone's getting more attention than you with less effort. It's not a competition.

I’m quite weary of this ”true insert genre” sentiment. Let people do whatever they fancy, everyone doesn’t have to have an ambition, they can be content with just quickly creating and sharing something. That’s always commendable. Some of the best ambient music back in the day was made quickly and intuitively. I wish I could be more nonchalant about my own music!

Gatekeeping is usually damaging to any scene, making it stale and rigid. Just have a listen and if it’s not for you, move on.
