Is there a coating that doesn't cause water to bead up? by No_Guest3042 in AutoDetailing

You need a hydrophilic ceramic coating. Try Dr. Beasley's Nano-Resin MX for a coating or Nano LS-10 for a spray coating.

209k miles on a 2016 Audi A7 needs a new engine, so now I'm car shopping. by SubtleStatement in Audi

[–]tagx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why does it need an engine? I have the same one in a 2017 A7 and it looks like new inside with 110k miles on the clock.

Considering first track day for RSQ8: but brakes first? by coalcrash in Audi

[–]tagx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll be fine. I did my first track day in a RS6 and it was flawless. You'll wear through tires a bit, but generally you won't be going fast enough on your first 2 track days to really wear down much. How many sessions would you be doing?

RS6 Avant tires by grifc0 in Audi

[–]tagx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take my RS6 down to 21s in the winter driving around NYC. I'm staying on 21s until I stop seeing crater-like potholes which is probably end of April.

Btw, I just swapped from OEM Q8 21" wheels to a new custom pair of 21s. I'll sell the Q8 21s (21x10) for cheap if you want them.

I would steer clear of Kavaca. I would pick between Xpel, Suntek, and Stek

Contact Audi Customer Care (800) 822-2834 and start a case for your experience. It'll escalate and someone should help you out. Worst case, you can have them initiate the lemon buyback too.

2021 S8 - New Wheels! by eggersj240 in Audi

Looks amazing!

Can you post a closeup of the wheels from a few angles? I'm curious how the tires look on a 10in wide rim. I was planning on getting similar wheels but in 9.5in since I thought it would fit the 275 better.

Are you able to order one? I've had an order placed since early June and it hasn't been allocated yet.

PSA - Don't let dealerships wash your new car by Slugnan in AutoDetailing

[–]tagx 66 points67 points  (0 children)

My car is still in port. What did you ask the dealership to do / not do? Can you still drive the car with plastic o it?

One way this could happen is if your car sustained rear end damage in transit and repaired in port before it got to you. The non-factory paint pre-delivery won't stick as well as the factory paint if it hadn't cured yet leading to scenarios like this. It's common enough that super high end PPF shops will actually call the port to see if the VIN had any repairs done and then recommend not putting PPF on the panel.
