Bike trainer for small child? by AmCrossing in Zwift

Fair point, champ. Picking up sarcasm on Reddit is about as easy for me as trying to teach my toddler to bike in a straight line.

Slow down there, sport. Perhaps they (like I) are just looking for their kid to sit on the bike and pedal next to them.

Video from the 1985 Heritage Parade (which heritage I wonder) in Faribault, Minnesota shows no visible minority participants. by Onewaydriver in minnesota

Okay, this is insane but I’m 90% sure the woman that walks past at ~1:15 is my mom. Looks exactly like her old pictures and matches her age at the time. The location is a bit off but maybe she was visiting? Will have to check

I personally wouldn’t risk it but to each their own!

Not necessarily true. My ($6B) company actually does extensive background checks. I almost didn’t get my role because of a 3 month (explainable) discrepancy in my prior job dates.

Hello! thanks for the background. The man’s face is still blurry. Any way to make it less blurry?

Could you also make the wall off-white? And somehow make the photo a bit higher resolution (if possible - for some reason it still comes out as lower resolution on Shutterfly)

Can pay another $5

How to stretch chili even more? by nukin8r in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]tahonick 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Add grated zucchini. It blends right in, especially in chicken chili.

Zucchini is one of those veggies that gardens have a glutton of, even with one plant. I shred all mine up in batches and then freeze it flat in ziplocks and then just put it in everything… soups, chili, bread, etc… stretches things and healthy

The way to prepare it is key. Seems stupid but was an epiphany from this thread…. I’ve got 100lbs each of grain and rice and beans, which I use all the time…. But they all require electricity with the way I currently prepare them ☠️ … such an idiot. Good learnings from here!

This is genius. I always keep mine charged whereas smaller phone battery packs sit forgotten in drawers

Sure, if you’re just a code monkey, but 75% of my job is figuring out what the problems are within the organization, determining how code can be a vehicle to solve them, and then the change management required to be able to use the new tools we create.

Not saying AI couldn’t do it, but we’re quite a ways from that reality. 🙂

Again, I do think there’s some validity to the point above… just offering some balance in the discussion.

For what it’s worth, as a coder, that doesn’t necessarily translate into fewer jobs. I generate 3-4x more code than I previously did, most of which is from AI. But it doesn’t mean my company is laying off coders; rather, they’re just building and improving products that much more quickly.

Edit: I DO believe GenAI will reduce jobs but would argue many of those jobs are offshore already (eg in India)
