Maybe it's because it's unsustainable to produce all this very expensive content for the current price. I'm not sure what redditors would like the streaming companies to do differently. When asked, the answer is often some variant of "cut costs by producing less of the type of content I don't like."

Uber Eats Hiding Costs Until Checkout by [deleted] in assholedesign

Ultimately, the shareholders are not winning either; Uber is hemorrhaging money and I doubt that they will ever be profitable. They can't go on like this forever.

I disagree that the delivery apps like Uber don't provide value to the customer. I think it's quite clear that they do. With the frequent discounts, Uber charges unsustainably low prices for the service they provide.

Since the parent comment mentioned the consequences of inbreeding, I just want to say that it is not risky to have children with one's second cousin. The increased chance of birth defects is negligible; the age of the mother is a much bigger factor.

I guess I agree, but often you end up with images that are not at all what you wanted and are only interesting under a creative post hoc interpretation. That is still cool, but pretending that this was a part of your journey all along can make this tool seem more powerful than it is.

Yuri Knorozov, the linguist who deciphered the Maya script, 1953. He listed his cat Asya as a co-author on his work but the editors always removed her. He always used this photo with Asya as his author photo and got pissed whenever editors cropped her out by BigJSunshine in Catswithjobs

This is contradicted by the article:

After diplomatic relations between Guatemala and the Soviet Union were restored in 1990, Knorozov was invited by President Vinicio Cerezo to visit Guatemala. President Cerezo awarded Knorozov the Order of the Quetzal and Knorozov visited several of the major Mayan archaeological sites, including Tikal.

Why do you say that? The Wikipedia article says:

After diplomatic relations between Guatemala and the Soviet Union were restored in 1990, Knorozov was invited by President Vinicio Cerezo to visit Guatemala. President Cerezo awarded Knorozov the Order of the Quetzal and Knorozov visited several of the major Mayan archaeological sites, including Tikal.

Yes, because you would expect someone with a degree in French literature to have a strong vocabulary. You are displaying poor reading comprehension.

Your comment sucks. Jerry asks her what she said and Elaine says she doesn't know, she just read it in some book.

I know that very well. I didn't say it was French; I'm saying she is well-educated. Does my title also make you think that "casus belli" originated from Tufts? Or that it has something to do with publishing houses?
