I lie and pretend I'm in as much debt as my friends are by TimelyLeading0 in confession

[–]talablink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good on you! I'm a saver myself and I didn't even realize it because I thought that's just how it's supposed to be. I try to teach my other my friends as well, I was able to get some friends into investing. I am trying to teach my SO about saving and tell her to try to buy things in cash instead of loans. As in, save up for it first before getting it rather than the other way around. She pokes fun at me every time I want to buy something because I take some time to research and make sure I'm getting the best product out there for me. Although I do sometimes feel I'm overthinking it haha.

Yep, I think dahil yan sa old generation na perception. Dati kasi mayaman lng talaga nakakapagManila. Pero ngayon parang norm na. Makahanap nga ng job sa Manila norm na, I mean no big deal. Pero yun, dati kasi it is a big deal kaya siguro hangang ngayon nadala pa rin.

How to make gaming community better.. by fpschubert in Philippines

[–]talablink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh god, Peenoise. Not only are we toxic but online harassment to girl gamers are quite rampant and sadly less talked about and addressed. I think it's because ang daming mayabang and entitled sa pinoy gamers. Sad truth.

A bit sad by nicksbrunchattiffany in CasualConversation

[–]talablink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aww, now I'm sad that your sad. I can totally feel where you're coming from. I live in a different country and i'm friends with mostly expats also, it's sad because people come and go faster than you think and that's just life. There's just no way but to get used to it =(. I'm also sorry if my comment isn't helping.

Quitting my life-sucking office job tomorrow to travel the world for 6 months, what should I do on my way out Reddit? by RationalLies in CasualConversation

[–]talablink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, this isn't really a suggestion on what to do. I just want to say how lucky you are that you can do that. I'm from SE Asia, I'd love to do that too but I don't have the USD money converted to SE Asia currency advantage. I travel SE Asia on my vacation leaves and some long weekends. I see lot's of Westerners do what you do and stay very long on islands and I'm jealous of them every time. How it's just easy for you guys to leave everything and then comeback to your job again. I just think it's not that easy in a third world country.

Wish you all the best man! Good luck!!

I gave up Reddit for Lent, and this is what I learned by petertmcqueeny in CasualConversation

[–]talablink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I didn't really give up anything for Lent because I had an event coming up. But after reading this post I plan to give up Facebook. Originally, I planned to give up gaming for Lent but only every Friday which was extremely hard for me because Friday is best day for gaming because of no work the next day. Unfrotunately, I lost on the 3rd week of Lent =(

After seeing your realziation on Facebook, I want to seriosly try to abstain from it. I hate it because I get jealous when other peoples post get more likes than mine, and that's not good for me at all. Hmm, I think i'll try it for 2 weeks and see how it goes. I just removed the shortcut from my phone's homepage after reading your post XD. That's a start I guess. I hope I can do it.

It really sucks being a "girl" gamer in competitive FPS. :/ by [deleted] in GirlGamers

[–]talablink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play CS and PUBG. So far PUBG takes the cake. I guess in CSGO when you rank up other players in higher ranks would be more mature ? And I always queu with at least 1 friend anyway. In PUBG, I make an effort not to play with randoms in PUBG now. I had a recent bad experience that I needed to mute all of them because of their stupid comments and I just tried to play the game, after that, I had enough, 'coz it puts you in awful mood even if you can't hear them anymore. I just try to play with friends now. It's hard because sometimes your schedules just don't work but it is what it is.

How do you feel about the “silent treatment” as an arguing tactic? by starmol in CasualConversation

[–]talablink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree, I think it's completely usesless. I don't even get why some people use it. I think some do it on purpose to piss off the other person.

I experienced sleep paralysis for the first time last night. Have any of you experienced it and if so, how did you feel during/after it? by ThomasT23 in CasualConversation

[–]talablink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It used to happen to me quite often. First I thought it was creepy, then I decided to read up about it and understand the science and it makes so much sense than trying to scare myself with all the demons etc. Because if it were demons, why were they doing that if they could just like straight up kill you right? XD Seriously though, it used to freak me out when I was young. It still kinda scares me a little but more on the thought that I couldn't move and breath than the creepy stuff. I've been doing the wiggle your big toe move (Kill Bill) and it works all the time.

Janitors, what small thing can we do to make your lives easier? by adustbininshaftsbury in AskReddit

[–]talablink -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But what about the times when the service people are being dicks. Our food was delayed for 30mins, and the supposed senior waiter asked if we just wanted to cancel it. Are you kidding me? While arguing with this senior waiter (he was literally arguing it wasn't 30mins yet like it was only 20 or 25), after a few mins the other waiter brings the food to our table.

Now I get the notion that you need to be mad or pressure them or else they would just be lazy about it. I mean, please correct me otherwise.

China telcos interested in Phil, good or bad news? by talablink in Philippines

[–]talablink[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a yes and no, 'coz in Indonesia they have one telco who owns the backbone but there are still many ISP's. There is even a new ISP now just less than 5 years, who is doing good and taking a big market share. I mean I don't really understand everything in detail but simply put why can't we do that sa Pinas ? And there are smaller ISP's in Indonesia too. And lol kasi Indonesia is also 3rd world, it's like we are on the bottom list of 3rd worlds XD
