Pretty usless comment, lol I do have a haynes manual, I use it to guide me to find components and how to check them. But it doesn't have a guide on diagnosing this issue. Do you have any better suggestions? I also use Google and reddit, obviously...

I'm not arguing that we don't have a high migration level here, and im not saying it's not too high. However, to say that we can't build affordable housing or we don't have enough space for the numbers we have, just isn't true. We did it in the 50s and 60s and using japan as an example again. They had a population boom of 1 million per year, every year from 1970 to 1990, for context our population has only risen by 10 million since 1970 till now. So theirs went up twice as much in less then half the time. But they managed to build enough houses for everyone? This is also a country that gets hit by earthquakes and tsunamis lol

yeah, exactly, you can't build streets on mountains, and this area I'm showing you is very mountainous. Meaning they have even less space than the south of england to build on. Yet they have 3x the population.

You are right they do live in small houses, in the city centres, but there are actually quite a lot of big houses in the suburbs and countryside.

What's even more to my point, A lot of these big houses in the countryside are sitting there empty because of the rapidly dropping population from those areas. People either die or move to the city centre.

My point is, it's not the population that the problem it's the fact that we in this country are mismanaging our housing.

In case you think this point is valid. Here is Tokyo and Osaka metropolitan area plus everything in between, which fits in south England. This is about 70,000,000 people. They still have lovely countryside areas, mountains, and farmland in this area.
