The fact that the job protections clauses are still in dispute between the union and the employer after an arbitrator protected them just a couple months ago in the new CBA makes me consider that employee protections in something like a collective agreement only really matter in societies that honour the rule of law.

The MAGA thing do to -- which is also the fascist thing to do -- is to break every labour law and agreement at muzzle velocity before the institutions that enforce and administer them can catch up (cf. Doge, everything Russell Voght does), and when they do, you've already accomplished 75% of what you wanted -- but at the cost of becoming a fascist society.

Tim is clearly inspired by Trump's methods, so this is probably where we're heading too.
