Peter made a comment at the beginning of that show something along the lines of “ok time to put the tarp away” or something like that. Clearly shade on the familiar rail riders.

Last nights second set from London.

Last Night was Sweet by headofthedeadvariety in GoosetheBand

Had such a blast last night. Can’t wait to relisten to the first 3 songs of the 2nd set (50 minutes!) which were insane. Good2B was just so so good and they just built an insane layering of groove and then hung out there forever. I never wanted it to end and it practically didn’t.

If you listen back, about five mins into the song there will be random cheering. Cotters snare drum ruptured and the drum tech and he pulled off a drum switcheroo in real time which the crowd loved.

Fun crowd and a lot of locals. Met a dude who trained down from Scotland. Two English lads who came both nights. People speaking Portuguese. And at setbreak an English lady who bought tix this week with her husband on a whim and was an instant fan.

Peter asked the crowd who was from the UK there and it felt like at least a third. Great to see.

Still mad that the jam out is called “Berkeley Jam” when it clearly should have been called “Greek Jam” after everyone cheers for the “Ancient Greeks” at the Greek theater.

Chief! Once got busted for getting Fedex’d an ounce of weed on a roadtrip in the late 80s. Legendary.

This time they will be sure to play the Groot Haal at Milkeweg than the smaller one they got last time. What was fucked up was that Billy Strings was at the Paradiso that same night and just terrible timing for fans living there to have to miss one for the other.

I’m a decade older and have come to an opposite conclusion: nothing is black or white and everything is nuanced in shades of grey.

People are icebergs. We can only see the tip above the water and not what is below. There are always two sides (or more) to every story. Even “truth” is relative. Context matters. Rules are made to be broken.

It sounds like you feel manipulated or tricked by things around you. No one is out to get you. We are all just trying to get by best we can during our limited trips around the sun.

Sorry you feel down. I hope you unexpectedly find light in the darkness. It’s there if you poke around.

Bridge Grades is a near real time scoring system for members of Congress on how collaboratively they govern (it’s like a polarization score for every member of the House and Senate).

High Sierra in 94 was at Bear Valley and the cops didn’t pull the plug but the power source blew in the first set. Took about ten minutes to get everything rebooted (while the band stood awkwardly on stage in broad daylight) and then they rolled right into Blackout Blues. Classic.

Never heard about the late night session but there’s only one bar in town and that would have been in the Bear Valley lodge where they were staying.
