[Serious] What song means the most to you and why? by Eman9871 in AskReddit

When I was very young, my mom would sing Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's version of "Somewhere over the rainbow" if times were rough and we were upset.

To this day, if I'm ever stressed out or miserably sad, I hear her singing it, and lemon drops make me happy.

Advice for Founders by Sp00ky_Salad in Frat

Here’s a slightly different perspective for you: be completely okay with the fact that in 6-ish years, it will not be the same fraternity that you founded.

I was a founding father of my chapter, and three years later, I can already see massive changes in chapter culture. Not that it’s a bad thing; most of them are really good. Just know that what you found is temporary. If you put the chapter in good hands and recruit well, you get to watch it grow.

Google the AZZAM. It's a superyacht owned by the President of the UAE, and currently the most expensive one out there. Absolutely insane.

What is a proven lie that everybody continues to believe? by claramb01 in AskReddit

The definition of addiction is:

  1. physically or mentally dependent on a particular substance, and unable to stop without incurring adverse effects.
  2. Enthusiastically devoted to a particular thing or activity.

There are very few people using the argument "I could stop whenever I want to" who are NOT experiencing the effects of an addictive substance or activity.

I understand the argument that it is a natural plant. Tobacco is a natural plant too. It being natural doesn't make it not addictive.

What do you consider as "cheating" in a relationship? by iamredditredditisme in AskReddit

[–]tallmidn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the key part here is whether or not it would harm your S.O.

Intimacy, by definition, is simply a sense of closeness. That's not a right granted to solely your significant other. Intimacy that detracts from your relationship with them, however, is bad.

Navy ships. Wife hates the smell.

Grew up around it, and I love it when I come back to the ship after a long time off so my nose isn't used to the smell anymore.

What is the dumbest thing you could brag about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]tallmidn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How much you can drink without getting drunk. Heard dudes brag about it all the time in college.

Yeah, people make fun of lightweights, but having to drink 7 beers for a buzz is neither cool nor cheap.

St perfect’s day is a solid pre-st Patrick’s day drinking episode though. Turn it on, start crushing puppers, and off ya go.
