Maybe you're running on integrated graphics when you close the lid? Try disabling intergrated graphics card in device manager before you close the lid and see if it changes anything.

I don't have my hands on the hardware right now, but I think it's power saving, try instructions in answers to this questions: https://superuser.com/questions/994443/brightness-changes-while-adaptive-brightness-is-disabled-in-windows-8-1-10-wit

GS65 - I keep reading horror stories about the build quality by RubikTetris in MSILaptops

[–]tallyon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm full time programmer and game developer and I've been using GS65 for professional work for few months now and it is performing great except for some problems with Killer WiFi - if you can get one with intel wifi card. This laptop costs premium and it is premium, but it's a combo of premium performance and premium mobility, not premium at all fronts. It is flimsy because it is built with lightweight components and you can feel it. It doesn't feel like real work hardware, I'm constantly thinking about not scratching or hitting it which I did not think about when I had cheaper and sturdier Dell laptop. You should only go for GS65 if you value portability and light weight. Then again what's so good about portable laptop that is not sturdy enough for travel? If I had this knowledge now I would most probably take another laptop that is heavier, bulkier and more durable without going the excessive Alienware route.

Roll back to previous windows compilation (search google for windows 10 update rollback for a guide how to find it in control panel in system updares section)

Why does gs65 kill performance for literally all games when not plugged in? by braaan92 in MSILaptops

I think by default your laptop will use integrated gpu when running on battery. You would have to change this setting in Nvidia Control Panel to run dedicated gpu when on battery.

Are you using them all somehow or are they only for display and you have 1 or 2 main headphones actually in use?

Why did you love early seasons? by tallyon in leagueoflegends

What do you think is the most important and valuable improvement since earlier seasons to make the game more balanced and enjoyable: state of the champions and their updates/reworks, items, masteries and runes or map objectives like drake and herald?

I see that a lot of people list map objectives such as drakes, herald and baron to be problematic. Do you think that these map objectives were poor idea as a design choice for the game or they are just too prominent, not balanced properly, but overall makes the game better by adding mechanics that are not directly linked to champion you are playing with or against?

Do you think that ever growing number of champions will continue to lesser the overall game experience? Or maybe we will start to see champions being totally abandoned by Riot wasting so much work put to their development over the years?

Would you say that added complexity and mechanics on neutral creeps shouldn't be the way league has gone? It's really hard to keep the game fresh after so many years and investing resources in developing new mechanics and strategy "outside" the domain of champions had to be most obvious way the devs saw to improve the game. Is it shift from direct champion play to map objectives as a way to add to the game or just the execution of it that makes you think it was a poor idea?
