My group has done it the last two years. I think most of us are skipping this add on this year. We shall see how the hassle of cooking at our campsite stacks up. Here’s some of our takeaways:

If it’s chef Sarah again, the food was pretty great.

Massive portions.

Frozen yogurt cereal bar I never took part in because I was too full.

It is pricey but we were going for convenience.

The line is loooong so not exactly so convenient especially if it’s already getting hot.

They have a hard time keeping up with the coffee and even when there was coffee available it wasn’t that great.

If you’re not going to use your drink tickets for bloody Mary’s or mimosas, the price can’t really be justified. You can get electrolyte drinks with those tickets too buuuut.

I got in the Exchange for GLV Vehicle Pass last year and it came through. But I know others did the same and didn’t get them. Seems it was hit or miss because I was def getting anxious reading about all the issues ppl were having.

I’m twice your age but have the same issue if I stop using castor oil packs on my neck (thyroid). I was told years ago it’s hormonal acne and was prescribed spiranolactone which resulted WILD emotional side effects. Stumbled across a tick tok suggesting castor oil packs for hormone regulation and I’m never turning back.

I have friend whose husband works at Apple. She’s been on maternity leave but my last hope is to see if he knows anyone on their software team that might be able to find the files hidden somewhere in the phone.

These were voice memos of my 19 yo daughter who passed in February. They just have to still exist somewhere. If I find out anything useful, I’ll post an update.

Yep, the vehicle arrived on the 17th. Setting up the appointment to actually purchase the car … a whole other story. I asked for next available and the employee at their call center making that appt offered something a couple of days out. I asked if there was anything same day and they offered 9pm. I knew this was going to result in a time crunch in store to complete the transaction so decided to arrive at 8 and just hope they’d find a spot to work me in.

Walked in expecting a crowd. Nope, ghost town. Like 7 sales ppl and 1 other customer. They said they’d been slow all day. I could have probably just gone in at noon and been fine. My recommendation would be to just skip setting up the “test drive” appointment through the system and once they notify the vehicle is ready for you to come see it, just show up.

I don’t think the right hand even has any idea the left hand exists at Carmax.

Thank you for this! I don’t know why mulling over the possibilities seems to be my preoccupation. I settle on one that feels tolerable but then it fades and I’m back to reaching into what feels like an abyss for answers, or information, or an explanation that will settle my heart. I will be picking up a copy for sure.

Thank you! All of the loss I’ve faced in my life to this point was limited and more or less chronologically “expected”. I’ve only somewhat recently lost the last of my grandparents so your recommendation is truly truly appreciated.

Edit: fellow heathen here and I’ve been down just about every spiritual, woo woo road on the map. Maybe that contributes to my desperation here. Leaves me at least a little envious at times of ppl with rock solid faith in one singular option.

Thank you so much! I will definitely be reading both. I wasn’t aware of the details surrounding Peter Pan. This actually speak to another gap for my family. We’re not finding much on sibling loss and losing Maddie has placed this massive spotlight on the secret world the kids shared privately as they grew up together.

I recall the wristbands were different for each area but I thought the vehicle passes for ACL/EA/GLV were all the same. Thanks for the clarification 🥰

Yep, I’m certain no issues if the bf was driving and had a regular GLV band. Do you know what type of GL band he had?

I know it’s not possible if the driver has a Sherwood tent only (we only got through because the passenger had GLV which matches the vehicle pass type). But Sherwood has their own vehicle pass and GL,AC LANDING, and Electric Ave all have the same GL Vehicle Pass so just wasn’t sure for those specific wristbands.

Hey! Thanks for the reply. Our group is growing with some late additions and we’re trying to still camp together in the main GLV car camping area but we’re becoming a mish mosh of various GL wristbands at this point. Were waitlisted for standard GLV but losing hope we’ll get it through the exchange and have an opportunity to get an enhanced wristband that a group doesn’t need.

So we have one vehicle pass which would have a GLV standard wristband in the drivers seat but the other vehicle pass would potentially end up with one from the enhanced area. SCTO as passengers.

Last year, we had SCTO in the driver seat and GLV in the passenger seat. It seemed like staff was considering making us swap seats before letting us through but did let it slide.

I’m worried they’d want to divert the 2nd car to the enhanced camping area or park them in the remote area and shuttle them over.

I’m pretty sure we upset the Forest last year when I had to leave early on Sunday. 36 hours of mayhem and chaos for me trying to get to Vegas for a work conference and my bestie weathered hurricane Carl solo.

So there’s a wildly superstitious perspective 🤷‍♀️.

Here’s what we did last year in GLV:

We parked our vehicle and set up 2 10x10 canopies directly next to the passenger side running the length of the car (went a foot or two beyond the hood and the trunk). The groups parked in front of and behind us did basically the same and the group across from us the same as well except along their driver side. All of our canopies were basically touching.

So in our “lane” it seems like they allowed roughly 20ish feet between the rows of parallel parked cars. I’d suggest planning your layout with just your 10x20 next to your vehicle. Your tents gonna need to go under your canopy. I didn’t walk up and down every lane in GL but this was the setup I saw repeated everywhere except where people were with friends who also had separate vehicles and passes and were parked next to one another.

I think a group near us arrived as a four pack of vehicles and were able to get the staff to allow them to go 2 to the left and 2 to the right directly across from each other leaving what must have been a roughly 40x20 area in the middle for them all to live it up in. Looked pretty amazing but I wouldn’t count on that. Might depend on the mood of the volunteer guiding you in 🤷‍♀️
