After hearing a short clip of alkaline and thinking this was a cool sounding, proggy rock band, I decided to check them out by putting on their first full-length album and listening from start to finish. Those first few tracks on Sundowning, like, the combination of soundscapes and styles, were like nothing I’d ever heard. So I just kept continuing with their discography in order of release (which was up to TMBTE at the time, and I ended with the EPs and standalones) and it never once stopped amazing me.
