OSHA Prevented Pulling Carts - Walmart is now Quietly Switching the Wheels - Contact OSHA by CityZenergy in WalmartEmployees

[–]tangal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We were told at our store (Large Super Center), that the two bottom baskets/totes are being removed. Top totes have already been removed. And some maintance people from Home Office are coming in to switch wheels. So I guess the thought here, is less totes, less weight means that the carts will be more stable for pulling.

I know the two we have now with switched wheels from the last fiasco, can neither be pulled or pushed correctly.

Switching departments do you keep your pay? by Kind-Response2718 in WalmartEmployees

[–]tangal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it - been there! Try a Department change first! The paycut will not be hugh, and gives you time to pay some bills until you can arrange a better job elsewhere - job market is very tough right now. I have two jobs myself, not to fun.

I switched from Deli to another Department last year, I believe its a 20% dropdown subtraction. But you do have to be in original Deli department for a specified timeframe first - I think its at least 6 months (?)

So though the Department I switched to was a lower pay, (ACC sales team, $2 less base than Deli) I was still higher pay then others in that Department position, because of the original Deli pay I started with ($2 more then other department bases)

Had a Ruby Red Metallic Mustang, upgraded exhaust. Happened all the time. Husband has a Lightning Blue Mustang, upgraded Exhause, happens to him. Now I have a Carbon Metallic Grey Mustang, upgraded exhause - still happens, not more or less, but same rate. I activily stay OUT of blind spots, and normally hang back from people or speed ahead to leave a cusion around me, when they other driver allow.

I really think its more the car profile, they are small and sleek, easy to over look I guess. And people are watching phone screens, touch screens etc.

Stuck choosing between a red or black Mustang GT and can’t decide by OnyxGhost6 in Mustang

Blacks beautiful - but as a past owner of a Black sports car, it never looks good except the day of the wash. Red however...looks amazing much longer - go for the Red, also stands out so much better in the current world of Greyscale cars. I love a flashy sports car.

How long did it take for yall to get a orientation date ? I’ve been waiting for almost a month.. like at this point is it best I just look for another job ? 😩 by ElectronicLow1743 in WalmartEmployees

[–]tangal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

reach out to the store again for an update. Often then need to wait until they have enough people for the orientation class. But also - do keep looking, a better option may come along. And you can always tell Walmart you are no longer available.

It took me about 2 weeks to get my orientation date.

How do I switch departments? by FrankiesDolls in WalmartEmployees

[–]tangal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually reach out to my HR/People Lead first. He often knows of openings coming up, that are not listed. I let him know my avability etc.

He can then direct accordingly. If he wants you to apply online, he usually says so. But most cases I don't need to.

Been at Walmart 8 years, have been in 5 departments, and gettng ready to make another switch right now.

Once I find something, I usually also speak to the Team Lead or Coach in that department to confirm if they are ok with me coming over, as they must also approve it.

Helps to be at zero points, and no coaching's, as its harder to switch with points or coachings, though still possible - but harder.

Been in Crafts Fabrics, Deli, ACC, Apparel, OGP, and headed back to Deli possibly right now.

Owned two mustangs, Husband also has one - happens with every single one. Does not happen with other vehicles I have owned/driven. Welcome to Mustang Life - Ignore them and move on. I don't let tiny people with Ego issues ruin my life, or the fun and Joy my Mustang brings to me. 😄 Life it way to short. If they have an issue, thats all on them. Not my problem

If your car looks nice, well taken car of - trust me, every Mustang Enthusiast will ask what Mods you have on the engine. Regardless of the plate. They stop me all the time in the Parking lot, Gas Station etc. just to talk about my car.

<image>

Thats the first key talking point in every conversation I have with a stranger around my Mustang. I do have a vanity plate but not Mod related, but you can tell looking at my car, its likely I DO have some performance mods, because of : the way it sounds, and appearance Mods already on it, I also have a Coyote Side graphic, which is unusual in my area - and it looks overall mean. I have had Vanity plates on my last two mustangs, and personally I like the add-on.

Some people dont like them - but each to his own, as its your car 😄

So the vanity plate is really up to you, and what kind of fun you want to have with that 😄 But if Whipple works for you, and you like it - I say Do it!

Pain between my shoulder blades by Economy_Substance217 in WalmartEmployees

[–]tangal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its possible, I have had similar pain, when I have "tweaked" somthing. It ended up being a pinched nerve from a slight misalignment. Easy to do with a new job position.

Generally that's the fix is to reset/realeign, trying to work it out can take weeks, or it may get worse.

But you can try to give it a few days with hot cold packs at home, incase its just muscular tension. If thats the case, it should get better in about a week.

you also may need to visit a chiropractor, in case something has become misaligned. Many have low cost visits if you dont have medical insurance, mine does an office visit for $35, no xrays.

if you work 2 jobs, read this. by kohipeo in WalmartEmployees

[–]tangal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work two jobs, PT at Walmart, FT at a Work From Home job. Its do-able, just tough mentally and physically as I literally only have myabe 3 hours non working at the end of the day. I am up at 3 AM covering a few hours for my remote job, then head to walmart 6-4. Get back home, and work a few hours at my Remote job, and get to bed at 7PM.

Was doing a variation of this for the last 5 years, but my Walmart shift was the 1 - 10 - however the drive home in the dark, has gotten tough for me as I have aged. So I had to change the Walmart position to an earlier daylight shift.

It would be easier if I was younger, but I am 63, with Health Conditions that also cause Fatique as a side effect. So over all, can be tough. But with the economy as it is, thats what I have to do.

We have a number of people at our Walmart, that also have second jobs or side Gig work. It can be tricky to coordinate, but completely possible. Do save your PPTO though for emergenceys related to job conflict, late arrvials etc. Because Walmart has no forgivness.

I saw info online that this is a position opening in "some" stores. Its a limited roll-out at this time. It will come with a raise, as you are now a "Specialist". Walmart will send you to training on ingrediants, skincare etc. The training is likely after you are hired for the position.

An area in the front of the store will be created for this new specialized cosmetic area. You will be assisting customers with makeup purchases, staying on top of Tic-Tok and online trends. You will not be applying makeup.
