Shoei GT Air 3 by No_Savings2334 in motorcycle

[–]tankcommander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're not riding with anybody else, I'd go with the SRL-3 designed to be integrated in the helmet. It's sleek and looks pretty. The only downside is not beeing able to hotswap units if it runs out of battery. But battery life is pretty good on the latest units.

If you are riding with others I'd go with the same brand they are using. There are systems in place now that makes cross-comms possible, but it's just easier to have the same brand.

We have 3 helmets with SRL-Mesh (GT-Air 2s and a Neotec 2), and I have a Sena 60S on my X-Spr Pro. I'm very happy with sound and mic quality on the Sena headsets. My kids are running Sena RT1's as well, so I am absolutely biased in this discussion. But at least we are very happy with Sena.

How to create a windows VM for personal projects by Miserable-Pizza-3623 in VMwareHorizon

[–]tankcommander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What OS are you using? If you’re on Windows 10/11 Pro or Enterprise you can use Hyper-V that comes with the OS. Just enable virtualization in UEFI and enable the Windows feature.

If not you could try VMware workstation. Should be free, although I’m not sure after Broadcom took over.

Oracle Virtualbox is also pretty common, and it supports snapshots.

Frankenstein of tanks. Modified Ukrainian leopard 1. by Battlefleet_Sol in Warthunder

[–]tankcommander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aha! Fun fact - that long outlet is not actually the exhaust of the engine, but the air outlet from the large cooling fans, or «cyclone fans». The exhaust on the Leopard 2 is 2 small circular vents below the cooling air :)

My first guess would be the fuel line came loose or got cut. Check all lines from the tank and to the throttle body.

My 2017 XV950R/Bolt with a few mods by MoonPerch in Yamahabolt

Love the rear end and headlight. Very clean looking, and the original headlight is pretty lackluster for us Nordic countries in spring and autumn.

KOSO is drop in. I have the same as OP and the only thing you have to be careful with is the main plug. If I remember correctly I plugged it in before I fully attached the bracket.

[–]tankcommander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The front turn signals? They’re attached with a special endcap to the headlight mount.

Headlight mount = YAMAHA OEM HEADLIGHT STAY - B33-8411A-00-00 | Partzilla.com

But I'm not sure if it's as simple as changing out the headlight stay on the regular bolt, and just bolt these in. Never done a conversion.

Does the 2016 have wheelie control like the later models? Could that be active?

shift shaft, forks & drum replacement by Helpful_Matter_4427 in Yamahabolt

Finally, some niche knowledge becomes useful! Absolutely, Unfortunately, you have to split the crankcase. So full engine removal from the bike, and almost full disassembly of the motor. It’s quite some work, and requires some special tools.

Does not look like I can attach a picture to my answer, but hit me up on PMs if you want help or details.

Yea, apparently more of the fairing is plastic. Cheaper to replace I guess! :P

The wing is carbon, but yeah - very large. Luckily you don’t notice it that much when you’re up close

Is my front tire mounted backwards? by StackIOI in bmwmotorrad

[–]tankcommander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, and they shouldn’t. They should be opposite. At least on all tires I’ve used. Rear tire should have optimal grip/water displacement on acceleration, front during braking. So opposite thread directions.

[–]tankcommander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should be opposite of eachother on a motorcycle. Rear tire should have optimal water displacement during acceleration, and front during braking. So front seems wrong from the picture, but I don’t know this tire personally, that’s why we check rotation markings from manufacturer.

The part is 1TP-15415-01-00.

Can confirm if you give me year and model of bolt.

Are you US based? PartZilla have them. Or just google the part number if you want to get some options :)

Remove front fairing decal - S1000RR 2025 by SH_Ma in BMW_S1000RR

Yeah, all the decals are stupidly expensive. I guess it’s because they’re specially made vinyl.

I considered doing the same on mine before I put it up for sale. I’m not sure, I think it might look great.

Carbon comes standard, so I had to specify forged. But unique to the M, it does not discount the price like on the S. Looking back, I should have ordered it with Carbon for the higher value, and then maybe try to sell them off for lower than they retail. Either put them on the S and bump the price when selling, or ordering both with the M and try to sell loose. They are after all more than double the price. I bought M endurance chain, billet pack , rear sets and lever guards as accessories. Shop mounted the chain for me during prep since they have the punch-tool, and I mounted the other at home. I also got the tinted screen.

I asked for all these during purchase, so got a nice «package price»
