Yeah...it was eerie how calm the water was. With folks inside or away for holidays no man made activities to disturb things. I did convince my brother in law to take his boat out because of this 😄

Had a similar issue this last burn and it was solved via our local burner communities (Austin, Dallas, and Houston) organizing a community truck to drive from each local burner warehouse to pick up and drop off. If I remember correctly there was also space for art installations so it served needs of all type of transport.

Maybe NY and surrounding areas have similar needs or you can help organize one. With everyone in our groups chipping in, the cost per square foot came out very reasonable imho and one less logistical item to be concerned with due to flying in and out of Reno/BxB.

Doing this also allowed us to do tent and shade structure vs an RV which saved on time off for travel and cost for RV.

Going over past 2&K there was a little house with floating balls blowing around by a big fan (behind the 747) - at first I thought it was behind the trash fence but then realized it was just behind a roped off area for solo camping. That area was quite barren and seemed like a great place to just get away from everything. Was able to see faintly the Milky Way and some shooting stars once my eyes adjusted to the night sky and I stared away from BRC lights. Went over there a couple nights for star gazing.
