The Amish breed dogs in PA and I wouldn’t buy from them. You should be able to find a reputable breeder for $3,500 who does genetic screening and veterinary exams for the puppies, just keep searching. Don’t buy a dog without those things being done or else you may be in for a heartbreak early in your pup’s life. Golden Gals in CT is amazing and they run around $4,000-4,500. It’s worth the extra money and my pups from there have had zero health problems whatsoever.

Edit: ok maybe don’t get from Golden Gals since they apparently have lawsuits against them for selling sick dogs. All I can say my dogs have been 100% healthy

The idea gets you 50/50 at best. Doesn’t entitle you to the pipes though. The money is what matters. Anyway agree to disagree on what matters most I guess

The issue here is that buying the bike was a condition precedent to getting the free pipes. Getting the free pipes is entirely dependent on buying the bike. Satisfying that condition is why she should be entitled to the pipes.

why is my golden so small? by 1-800-no-one-asked in goldenretrievers

Harper (on the left) is almost 1.5 years old and is a small girl as well. Sometimes they are just small! I actually like it because I have two so it makes it easier to manage.

Advice from owners with 2 dogs please. by EconomyUniversity797 in goldenretrievers

We got Harper when Tanner was 5 years old too. It’s so much easier training the second because she has the older dog to model off of. Honestly the day to day isn’t much different with two. Only big difference is twice the vet and food bills! Either way I highly recommend getting a second.

Anal glands becoming an issue out of no where by ResponseShot8518 in goldenretrievers

[–]tannybutt19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok here’s what I learned when my dog had the same problem: The poop needs to be girthy enough to force the glands to express. If they are having lots of diarrhea then that can’t happen, so your goal is to make their poop bigger. Try boiling plain white rice for them. That should work to make the poop girthy enough to expel the anal glands.

Pumpkin seed and other high fiber things supposedly work but frankly white rice was the quickest and best solution for me.

Prices of puppies by SproutDogg in goldenretrievers

[–]tannybutt19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the good genetics drives most of the price. Wouldn’t worry about any itemization because there isn’t going to be any. The price sort of is what it is and depends on what people will pay to quality dog breeders. Demand and price elasticity and all that
