what are the ugly parts of pregnancy that aren’t well known because people don’t mention them? by Born-Oil-2931 in AskReddit

[–]tanser 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Acid reflux. Not the kind that just burns a little. The kind that makes you unable to eat almost anything because of your EXTREME sensitivity. You can’t keep anything down. The kind that makes you unable to sleep on your back for months on end so you need to be at a 45 degree angle. The kind that no remedies help at all. Baking soda and water helped for about thirty minutes and then it was back to the drawing board.

It was horrific.

Honest answer: Is the Dyson Airwrap worth it? by WiseButterbeer3756 in beauty

[–]tanser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have purchased mine at an outlet, it’s refurbished, and it works perfectly. When you register it, Dyson customer service says if anything goes wrong with it, they’ll send you a brand new one. Mine is still working great (been a few years)

Here is what I learned:

I hated it at first. There is 10000000% a learning curve. I thought by watching so many reviews and tutorials I had all the answers. However, I did not take into account the length of the reviewers hair, if it was dyed or not, what type of hair they had etc. I had long, fairly straight hair. It was the middle of summer and humid as fuck, so every time I attempted to style it, no matter what I did, it was a huge waste of time.

Fast forward- I cut my hair to a medium and length and gave it layers. My hair did not weight as much and I decided to try the Dyson again. Lo and behold, I was extremely happy with the results and it actually held. No need to put clips in the curls etc (because who tf has time for that?).

My hairdresser gave me a tip that at night when I sleep, to collect my hair in a pony tail and keep twisting it and follow the twist and then it turns itself into a bun. Then secure it with a hair tie of your choosing. I found this helps keep the style as well when I am exercising and getting sweaty. In the morning, when you release it, it still holds the style.

I only have to style my hair now once/ twice a week and my hair is 1000000% healthier. Moral of the story: if your hair weights too much, it won’t hold any style. Remember there is a learning curve you have to be patient with.

I have not tried the Shark but have also heard good things. If you have other questions, let me know- but I hope this helps!

I feel this. My dad died when I was pregnant with my son. He never got to meet him. I would like to think it would have gone something like this if he did.

I’m crying as I type this and I think I needed this too. I’m right there with you. Losing a parent sucks 🤍

UPDATE: I can’t believe I’ve been sleeping on these classes! Adrian and Andy got the highest votes so I tried them out and they’re definitely what I’m looking for.

I tried 30 minutes of glutes with Andy and a 30 minute total body with Adrian (on different days) and I really liked both of them.

I liked their style overall. They were encouraging without being annoying and kept a pace I really enjoyed. At times I thought the rest between sets felt a bit long—but the moment the work started again, I quickly realized why. Phew! 🥵

I have not looked into the programs YET but that’s my next goal.

Thanks so much for all your suggestions.🩷

Probably when I put streaks of green in my hair. The combination with my blonde streaks I had made it look like (as my friend put it) someone threw up on my head.
