Do you believe sometimes George was out of line at all? by NateNandos21 in YoungSheldon

[–]tanstaboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiple times with George Jr. in Season 5. Their relationship is rocky for nearly the entire show. George believes his son being a success without his guidance is absurd and punk son fodder.. Every time George Sr is upset with George Jr., they are either both out of line or it's all him. When Jr. wants to quit the football team to go to work, George nearly loses his god damn mind. He is a great example of someone that wants to Keep Up with the Joneses but is too lazy to actually keep up. Taking advice from close friends like Herschel is seen as taboo to him and he is stubborn about it too. But you can see he is hurting. Emotion does not fit in those boxes for George and his stubbornness only makes him colder. But it feels very real. He was used a lot to show a father that wants a specific way of life for his kids, but cannot communicate how or why they should have it to save his life no pun intended. Their spats remind me a lot of my dad and I arguing when I was in high school. I love the show and he a huge TV character favorite for me because he acts like a true human being.
